 It is a great toaster but the first 2-3 times we used it, it smelled like plastic burning but that went away after a few uses. Great toaster, as described, super fast delivery, ordered on Wednesday, got it by Friday. My last toaster just burned everything to a crisp, no matter how low you set it. This one, on the other hand, seems to be really consistent

 I suppose it's very likely that if this new toaster held the same heating components as the ones I bought decades ago, the whole appliance would maybe have melted into a puddle of flammable goo. But if I can't find a toaster that can take a frozen slice of bread to at least lightly browned and crisp enough to make some small amount of sound when you take a bite, I may take to just using my oven instead.

Meh.  Was hoping for more aggressive toasting ability.

 It just pops up the toast and you have to pay attention so you don't miss the right moment to spread the peanut butter (at peak toast temperature).  3) Max heat cycle too short At maximum heat setting, the toast pops up at 2m 36s. The toast, at this point, is only lightly toasted and I find that I need to pop it on for another 45-60s. This is really annoying because now I'm back to having to babysit the toasting process to get it right

This review if for the 2-slot CPT-122 toaster after having used it for 3 breakfasts.  Overall:  I do not recommend this toaster unless you don't mind having to start the toasting process multiple times.  Cons:  1) No LED indicators: Unlike my trusted Sunbeam of 20+ years, this toaster lacks visual (LED) indicators to show that it's plugged in (nice to have when you're on a GFCI outlet) as well as LED indicators showing toasting progress.  2) No audible indication of toasting complete: It would be nice if the toaster could chime when it completes the toasting cycle

We returned this because the inner heating elements did not heat up even when set at the highest number. I first toasted an English Muffin on 3 as a test but it came out looking untoasted, so I put it in again on 6 and looked inside to watch it and make sure it didn't burn - that's when I saw that only the heating elements were red on top and sides. This time when it popped up, the muffin was slightly burned on the edges but barely toasted on the inside. Next, hubby tried a normal slice of brown bread (I think he set it at # 5) this time it toasted one side okay but burnt the other side of the bread

 The extra lift spring tension is too much and is able to lift the toaster off the counter before the bread gets lifted to the top. 5. I would give it five stars just for looks and design.

 Okay, so that took just right at a minute. So now let's do a bagel. I've got the bagel cut in half. It's not frozen

 Again, I would like to see it a little more uniform. We're kind of got some spots here where it's not. That seems to be a major fault of toasters. I've sent several toasters back because they don't do it even

 It's going to have a lower heat and then it's going to defrost the base pastry and then it's going to toast it. Reheat. It'll heat it up without toasting it without turning your toast brown. It's supposed to reheat the toast without turning the brown

 So activate it and then hit the bagel button. The bagel button adds more time to toast your bagel. And if you want to finish before you can't just lift what you can lift the handle up, but you can just hit the cancel button and that forces the handle up. Now defrost
