 All things considered, I think this waffle maker deserves it's three stars because of the poor quality in materials and poor build quality.

This is a nice looking waffle maker. It's a pretty good size on the counter top. I was trying to replace a Calphalon round waffle maker that had broken but it must have been discontinued. Overall, this waffle maker works really well

 I immediately sent the waffle maker back and had Amazon send a replacement. I hope this replacement doesn't have the same problem. All things considered, I think this waffle maker deserves it's three stars because of the poor quality in materials and poor build quality.

Nice Waffle Maker - Handle Broke After One Week

I’ve been a little disappointed with this waffle iron. I purchased it to replace my regular cast iron waffle iron which worked great but I wanted deeper crevices. I chose this one based on a recommendation and other reviewers. I like that it’s space saving and has a timer and ready light, but I don’t feel the settings work well to crisp the waffles

 The plates of this waffle maker are not removable, so therefore, pancake plates would not work, either. Looks like this version was updated with NO removable plates, so NO pancake plates. Not sure if this is a deal breaker, might be returning & upgrade to another maker.

It is easy to use, just not liking the advertising of the pancake plates, but not able to use or included.

This wafflemaker appeared very sturdy, was as easy to clean as any one-piece wafflemaker, and was easy to use. The only problem was that its performance was very poor. I got it to replace my trusty but large and cumbersome 10-yr-old Waring Pro flip wafflemaker. At first I had great hopes for the Cuisinart- it was good-looking and sturdy, made thick waffles, and was from a trusted manufacturer

 After trying numerous waffle recipes, however, I returned it. The major problems were 1: the center of the waffles were burnt while edges were raw, 2: one side was dark and crisp while the other side was pale and soft, and 3: it took 8 or more minutes to cook a waffle. I am back to using the Waring at home (fast and cooked perfectly) and a smaller, less expensive, regular-thickness Cuisinart wafflemaker at a vacation home. The latter actually makes the best and fastest waffles

 I love this waffle Maker mostly because it’s easy to store in my small kitcheb but if I had know then what I know now and had the space, I would opt for the waffle maker you where you flip the whole unit halfway through the cooking time.

 With this waffle maker the bottle Is always a little more cooked than the top because of that. If I was able to flip the waffle and let gravity pull the waffle into the crevices the top would be able to cook to the same golden color.  (With many waffle makers you have to unplug the unit to turn it off -- this can be dangerous if you have to reach right over the hot unit to reach the plug.) Minus -- Most waffle makers that don't have the ability to flip over have a degree of unevenness in browning at the top and bottom. It may just be the particular unit I received, but the difference between top and bottom cooking is much larger than I expected, and just barely acceptable -- the top has to get very brown to get the bottom lightly browned. This does not prevent me from eating and enjoying the waffles, but it knocks off one star

 Waffles would not cook evenly. Got this more expensive model. It is heavier and seems to do a better job of making a waffle that is crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Getting the temp just right takes some practice, but it eventually does a nice job
