Product seems to function, poor support options

 However, this is my first experience with CyberPower products. I've owned numerous UPS's from other companies over the years and NEVER had a battery die this soon.  If this new battery doesn't make it at least 2 years before needing to be replaced, this'll be my LAST product from CyberPower, and I'll instead stick with the other brands I've used in the past. Only reason I gave this CyberPower UPS a try was because of an online review that gave it high marks

Internal Battery Died After Only 6 Months

 There is an added on sticker that says "compatible with Windows 7". The time chart on the box also shows how long an Apple iMac G4 will run on it..

Not a bad little unit

 Immediately, the UPS (note: "uninterruptible" power supply) emitted the warning alarm. I went to reset the box, and I noticed that all units powered by the box were shut down. This was within 15 seconds of the surge, and it certainly did not provide uninterruptible power.  As far as providing the services claimed, I have to downgrade my rating to 2-stars

 If I have any issues over the next few days/weeks, I will update this comment/rating. Mid April and it is still working great. We have had two issues with power outages and this system worked perfectly, switching the computer to the backup battery in an instant. I only knew it switched over because the room lights flickered and went out while the UPS made a sort ov clicking sound

 They rest slightly upwards which means they are not sitting flush with the top of the unit. They are plugged in sufficiently so as to have power and will not easily fall out. However, I would be more comfortable if they sat flush with the top. Other than that, it seems to work well

 What I like about it the most is that it's small yet power-packed. It has the basic number of primary plug sockets (total of 6) 3 surge protector/backup and 3 surge protect only for your monitor, cpu etc. The unit also provides protection for your network which is also the norm on many UPS units, but it's amazing to find this on one that's so compact! The unit is a nice size too for placing under a cramped desk. This unit even worked perfectly in a friend's RV when we went camping for a week

So Far So Good

Works well, though it has an annoying sound

  I've found this model more reliable than the APC RS series. The Eco feature turns off the transformer completely when the power is good and the transformer is not needed. This saves 80 Watts relative to a comparable UPS. It has a fan, but the fan only runs when the power has been out for a few minutes and I'm on battery power, so in normal use it is silent

Pros: Does its job reliably, quietly and correctly. Power conditioning. Eco feature really works. Can tun off the loud alarm

A Good Solid UPS

The Cyberpower CP685AVR UPS has worked flawlessly. It's a great unit for supporting a few network components of moderate electrical draw. I'm using it to provide protection and backup power to an ASUS router, a Synology NAS, and a Motorola 900 MHz wireless unit. I calculate that all these can be kept up for 20-25 minutes, with plenty of time for the NAS to do an auto-shutdown
