 so there's two on the front, two on the back. I do really like this this clear view slot. It's really nice I can tuck this against the wall of my kitchen counter. It's nice and it tucks away pretty neatly and I'll still be able to keep it out all the time

 But overall, it works a lot better than my previous toaster. My previous toaster was pretty much straight up garbage and it wouldn't toast uniformly in the slightest. So now I have this on regular toast so you can kind of see the elements at the back there and I'm just gonna keep trained on the toe so we can see. it didn't really look like it, like flipped up and out like the other reviews that say it's too springy, that's my dog in the background

All right! Today we are checking out the Clearview Toaster from Dash. Just picked this up to replace a toaster that I got a long time ago as a employee gift from an old job and I hated the toaster pretty much as much as the job. so it was time to replace and my wife had gotten a mini waffle maker from Dash and really loves it, so I thought I'd try out the Dash Clearview Toaster. I wanted something with a nice long single slot for wide pieces of bread and I kind of like this clear view window

 I'm just gonna keep the bagel setting on while I'm waiting for this to toast. But you can see the element here warming up. so there's two on the front, two on the back. I do really like this this clear view slot

 They should have made it a two slot toaster, or made it a little wider so it could accept and toast two slices of odd shaped bread at once.  It's fine as a toaster, but it didn't solve my problem, just replaced it with a new one. I'll probably use it for 2-3 years until I get tired of toasting each side of my sandwich individually, and then just cave in and get a small 4 slice toaster oven. It's a shame because they can easily fit two slots on the form factor they currently have, instead they went for style and a window

 This is an extra wide ONE SLOT toaster.  The window in the front is fine, though the point of a toaster is to press the button and not have to wait and watch it like how I need to when I toast bread under the broiler in the oven. The heating elements are 4 quartz bars, this is twice as much as a small toaster oven with modern elements. It doesn't use the old style heating wire that weaves around the toast

 I suspect they heat up slower because it has 4 of them to power. If they didn't have the window, they could probably get away with 2, and heat the toast faster.  Again, the core problem is that this is a single slot toaster, I didn't know that when I bought it. If I want to toast enough odd-shaped bread for a sandwich, instead of cutting the corners to make them fit my old one, I need to put each slice in one at a time

The cheapest toaster oven walmart sells starts glowing red within seconds of turning it on, this will take 10-15 seconds to come up to temp.  It's better than a $10 Walmart special but doesn't come close to decent toasters by Cuisinart, Calphalon, Kitchenaid, etc, all in which employ old school heating elements. I expected more evenly cooked toast. I envisioned a perfect golden hue from end to end, with an even coloration on both sides. Instead this leaves blotchy white spots amongst ever changing shades of brown

How often do you sit and stare at your toaster? If your answer is anything other than never, you may want to rethink your life. Seriously though, I bought this not because of the "clear view" gimmick but because of the tube style method of heating employed in this toaster. Similar to a toaster oven, properly implemented this style of cooking toast could very well be superior to the conventional toaster. Personal history making toast in a Breville toaster oven proved this notion

 but this is like a like a tempered glass or something that you can clean. Now you don't want to cook toast without it in there because then you're just left with this like little uh window here on the side. So you definitely want to make sure this gets installed before you cook your toast and it just snaps in there like that. It does have a little bit of cord storage

 Now that's got a red light and then there's also reheat. Let's try reheat now. Reheats got a red light and then Bangle's got a red light. so they all have a little red light to let you know that you've selected it

 Okay, so there's really no picture to show you when you're doing a bagel. I got the bagel button, selected the burner towards us so the burner right next to the window that's the one that's that's being used, the other one's not on so only so when you put a bagel in, it's only going to toast the side towards the window. Which makes sense that way you can watch your bagel being toasted instead of so it only turns one heating element on when you select bagel. So we're very impressed with this toaster

 But the biggest thing? we've never had one with a clear view window and this is a two slice toaster. Now what I've noticed is it's got a different type of a heating element. It's got one heating element down there at the bottom that kind of angles up and toast the toast. So this is 1100 watts

 Its heating elements are something other than the classic grid of thin nichrome wires and I hope that speaks to longevity (of course, only time will tell). The controls are easy to understand and use. It only gets a little warm on the outside when in operation.  Home-baked bread tends to be denser and have a higher moisture content than store-bought, so I found the higher "brownness" settings worked best for my thicker-cut slices

  It's well-packaged and the enclosed manual is comprehensive and well-written. The build quality looks good. Its heating elements are something other than the classic grid of thin nichrome wires and I hope that speaks to longevity (of course, only time will tell). The controls are easy to understand and use

  If you want something less plebeian than a regular toaster, consider this instead of the more prevalent "retro" designs -- of which soon all your neighbors will have one. I'd recommend it.
