I am front-end developer with eyestrain problem.
Already bought paperlike hdtf but somehow it still makes my eyes very tired. Probably because of very specific features of this screen. A liitel bit glare and quality of screen. It is pretty  hard to use vscode.

Also having hisense a7cc and I am pretty happy with its screen.

Is it worth trying dasung 253, it is pretty expensive and I'm not sure it will help me or dump my money like paperlike.

If there is somebody with insights or experiences that might help me make decision, please share.

Prefer Dasung VS Onyx Boox Max

Like you, after several years I switched from Paperlike HD to Paperlike 253 when it came out on Indiegogo. Although the monitor PPI went down from 207 PPI to 145 PPI, the overall experience is good. Like with Paperlike HD, you only need one set of settings to last through the day (I think I used to use Black+ in Paperlike HD). There is pretty much no need to keep switching modes

I have been working on a Dasung Paperlike HD for &gt;1 year as my main working monitor (I fell on the head in a bike accident and can since then only work on e-ink without getting headache). I absolutely love the Paperlike HD, but since its quite small I recently bought a boox Mira Pro. I chose the Mira Pro over the Paperlike 253 only because of the better price. Since it seems to have the same panel I thought it wouldn't be a problem. Now, I have to say that the experience with the Mira Pro is quite significantly worse then with the Paperlike HD. There's a lot (!) of ghosting going on and there doesn't seem to be a setting with the Mira that is as fast without too many tradeoffs as my main Dasung-setting "fast + (m2)" with the Paperlike HD. I have shortcuts for refresh, speed mode and video mode set up with the Mira, but the overall experience is quite bad (flickering grays, extreme ghosting, constant need to refresh). I had a intense working period of two weeks end of March and found myself switching back to the Paperlike HD, because it allows for a more normal usage.

So, my main question would be: does the Paperlike 253 have the same problems as the Mira Pro or is the overall experience of the 253 comparable to the 13.3 Paperlike HD? If the latter is the case I would switch to the Paperlike 253 and sell the Mira Pro (DM me, if your interested, I'm in Vienna).

btw.: I don't want to bash boox. I had a Max2, which I loved (battery down now) and now I have a Air2, which is equally awesome.
