 So for the 2018 Release 5C we went and 4C we went to Fox suspension. I'm really excited about this because we spent a lot of time with Fox specifically tuning this shock for the bike and the shock itself is amazing it's the best shock I think that they've ever made. Another cool thing that this bike comes with is the SRAM Eagle XO rear derailleur and then the TruMate of Descendant Cranks which are part of their new system that's the 12 speed so it's one up front and 12 in the back. So much better than front derailleurs I can't even imagine how we rode them for so long but basically it keeps your drivetrain tight and quiet and then with the new Eagle that adds the 12th gear and it gives you a 500% range which is the same range as if you had a front derailleur anyway

 So on the new Release Carbon we kept the geometry the same as the aluminum release because we nailed it the first time and I absolutely love it. But with going to carbon we were able to lose some weight on the frame while adding stiffness and just the general ride qualities of carbon. So for the 2018 Release 5C we went and 4C we went to Fox suspension. This is 2 minutes(-ish) MTB reviews. 

Today we ride and review the all new 2018 Diamondback Release 5C and 4C. Jay took the 5C and I had the 4C.

This bike was super fun to ride and in the video I explain why. After riding this bike, you can understand why great MTB YouTubers like SETH BIKE HACKS and THE SINGLETRACK SAMPLER ride these as their main weapon to hit the trails. SKILLS WITH PHIL made the treacherous SEDONA WHITE LINE in a Release 5C.

This bike is so highly rated in the Mountain Bike Community.

2018 Diamondback Release 5C // Bike Review - YouTube

 For me, the stoutness and burliness of the 36 is worth having. It offers 150mm of travel to pair with the 130mm of travel in the rear — provided by Fox’s Elite Float DPX2 shock. Race Face ARC30 wheels are acceptable. They aren’t the best wheels on the market, but they certainly aren’t the worst either

 Within minutes of leaving the trailhead, the 5C shattered all apprehension. It ate everything I threw at it. While it didn’t quite hit the same high notes on my test loop as Yeti’s SB 4.5C (a short travel 29’er), I constantly had to remind myself of the Diamondback’s price point

 A SRAM XO1 Eagle drivetrain and Guide RS brakes leave little to be desired in the power and power-stopping departments. At this price point, it is near impossible to beat the spec on the 5C.
