First time posting. I’m wondering what your recommendations for vacuums are, and what you think are fair price points. I have pets and carpet and linoleum flooring. I live in a desert climate so lots of sand and dust. 
I can only receive mail to a PO box so that rules out cheaper Amazon options. I was looking at the eureka neu182b because I’m looking for strong suction to remove dirt and debris from carpets as previous tenants left something to be desired with their cleanliness. How much do you spend on vacuums?

 The attachments? Easy to use and they don’t fall off like some clunky Johnny Appleseed nonsense while you’re vacuuming. Noise? Not a problem. It’s quiet for how much power it packs. If you have pets, kids, carpet, hard floors, a brain, one arm, or crippling OCD then this vacuum is for you

 I’m a clean freak. My carpet is high pile and hides all the cat hair, crumbs, and dirt deep down in some dust goblin hell scape located just above the pad. The Dyson just evicted 5 years worth of yuck in about 10 minutes. If I could be a door to door Dyson salesperson then I would

I've looked at some sharks that advertise it, but reviews seem split on whether it actually works.

I'd prefer bagged I think.  I'm not a big fan of how dirty bagless vacuums get.

Budget is &lt;$500.

Vacuum for long hair

 Just like so, and i kind of have to feed it in a little bit and then this just pushes and locks into place, no tools are required really easy to take apart. I really like that the hair screw tool this comes apart really easily as well. There'S a red latch here that you unlock, you have to unlock it all the way kind of separates there, and then it just separates from the motor. And then you can pull this apart and you can get in here because it looks like they designed this so that, just in case hair and thread does get built up in there

 The machine is easy to use, has a lot of power and the many included attachments make the machine very versatile. The bin of the v15 is easy to empty when full and the maintenance on the machine is simple, with no tools required. As far as improvements, i would like to see, although it cleans great, i wish the brush bar of the high torque cleaner head, had more agitation with longer and stiffer bristles, so it could pull itself through carpeting in auto mode when the suction kicks up. It can be harder to push than i would like

 The fluffy head is also easy to clean. You can wipe this out and to unlock it. You just lift this here, see that and then the whole brush roll should slide right out. So there's the tiny motor that drives this

 There'S a red latch here that you unlock, you have to unlock it all the way kind of separates there, and then it just separates from the motor. And then you can pull this apart and you can get in here because it looks like they designed this so that, just in case hair and thread does get built up in there. You can easily get to it and clean it out this you could wash as well. So while you can't wash the main brush where you can wash this there's little things on this, look at how the bristles are angled

We are looking to buy a cordless stick vacuum. Budget is around $800. Our floor space is around %80 carpet %20 hardwood. We live in a dry climate so it is always very dusty. 
We have a cat and we are all allergic to dust and cat dander. Looking for something that has a really powerful brush and suction despite being cordless. We used to have a Dyson cordless that we did not like at all but it was from the year 2014. I see Dyson has all kinds of different cordless vacuums now and I am wondering if they improved their technology since then. If so, I am open to purchasing another Dyson.
