 I have a bit of experience with folded ribbon i mean the other speakers i heard, for example, is like the golden year two. So whenever i listen to folded ribbon twitter, one thing i noticed when i compared to let's say the brilliant tweeter is that it's a little bit less open and it sparkles a little bit less and also folded ribbon. I find them a little bit dry, relatively speaking, to the brilliant tweeter. In this case i meant a shorter reverberation time, so that thing sound tends to drop off faster than let's say a berlin tweeter

 I just described the focal one: zero, zero, eight with brilliant tutor, the monitor gx 300 with ribbon tweeter, that's made of, i think ceramic and magnesium, and also the emotiva t2 plus three different speakers, three different tweeters. So, even though they're open area in detail, their presentation do differ a little bit. Nice! I just got myself some Emotiva T2+, they are even better than the Martin Logan SL3 they replaced. Cannot recommend them enough.

i would invest in media console/center before anything else.  it would really bump that room up to the next level.  much more than the svs pb1000 pro that's on the way.  but that's just my opinion.  i know you said you and your wife aren't bothered by the look or exposed cables, i just feel like you're doing your equipment a disservice.

Compliment first; nice speakers and TV.  Now, do something about that mess of wires.  At the very least, you could run all of the wires from TV behind the vertical bracket of stand.  You have some nice things.  Show that they mean something to you.  Zip-ties and Velcro do not cost much.

Looks like my speaker setup! T1+s, C1+, PB1000, S750H. Been loving it so far hope you are too.    
Only issue I've had was one time when I watched Tenet on UHD-BR (via XB1X) with the sound going to AVR (was in DTS Mstr HD mode) over eArc from my TV. Had the volume up louder than normal (still below 0dB) and was getting a weird clipping like effect where the sound would be "tinny" at times when there was a lot of noise going on. Not sure why this happened but was a bit concerning.

Loving the new Emotiva’s

 There T once - and I can see why these things sound fantastic. Now the only knock on it. I have is at least for this review unit. They don't give your port plug, so you're gon na have to push it away from the wall about six or seven inches, so you don't get any port noise or any

 It'S got a little bit of gold or copper coloring to it. So if you have a black home theater, this is not gon na visually, disturb your darkness or the blackness that you have in your home theater. So that's pretty cool, but otherwise it's nice and flat and you've got these angles here in here. To give you just a little bit of difference from the front of the speaker now, let's move on to these sides of the speaker, the sides top bottom and back are covered in this black vinyl surface finish and the cool thing about the surface finish is it Doesn'T pick up fingerprints very easily now, if you have reaching potato-chip fingers or something like that, then yeah it'll get on the speaker, but otherwise you don't have to worry about marring the surface with your fingerprints, which is pretty cool now it feels pretty good in the Hand, it's not like soft touch or anything like that, but it's also not hard hard plastic either

99 they're, pretty average. For the category, most people can find floorstanding speaker for about 500 bucks apiece. Obviously you can go much much higher in. You can go a hundred thousand dollars speaker if you want to two hundred thousand dollars whatever you want, but at 500 bucks of speaker they've done a pretty good job with these, especially the way they sound

 You know money bass from that, so I wish they would provide poor plugs and also with the woofers down here you get a little bit better in detail and obviously better low end if you have a dedicated subwoofer, but otherwise these things sound fantastic and if you're Thinking about buying them for my sound quality standpoint, you're, not gon na go wrong. The final category I'm gon na rank is value, and I have to give these a four out of five at 500 bucks of speaker because it cost $ 9.99 they're, pretty average. For the category, most people can find floorstanding speaker for about 500 bucks apiece

* The PB-1000s are fantastic gateway subwoofers to high end bass, but I wanted more extension so I got the FVX15. They only had one in stock though, so I had to wait to add the 2nd. :(

* While the ELAC F6.2 are good value (when on sale), the ELAC C6.2 is a very average / meh center channel. I wanted clearer and louder dialogue

 So if these are delivered to your home people will know what they are especially if they look them up online if they aren't familiar with the company. And you know in this holiday season porch pirates are out there big so make sure you are home to get these or you have a neighbor pick them up so they won't be stolen from your property. Now the good news is these things are big and people won't be putting them in a backpack or anything like that. They're going to need some help carrying them anywhere they're going to go

 So let's move on and let's talk about these speakers. As you can see on the front of the box you have the Emotiva logo along with the AirMotive T2 Pluses right there on the front. So if these are delivered to your home people will know what they are especially if they look them up online if they aren't familiar with the company. Emotiva Airmotiv T2+ Unboxing and Overview - YouTube

They have the “live” sound I love without ever being harsh. They hit 35hz with authority in my room, and do so cleanly.

Tekton goodness. Scored a used pair of Lore 2.0s.

 This graphic represents a bird's eye view of the speaker playing into your free space. Well, we could, we could say, maybe even into your room, if you want to consider it like that, where the listener is at the zero degree line, and then the back of the speaker is back here and then the sides are to the sides. The red indicates. The higher energy area - and that is where i'm kind of drawing correlations about the stereo width

 The bass starts to have more distortion as you go lower in frequency. The dynamic range test indicates that this speaker is pretty good up until about 96 db at one meter, but when you get to 102 db check out this top end, that starts to compress pretty dang hard. I would say that for most people in most listening situations, you're gon na be more than okay. In my living room, four meters away, i was listening to a stereo pair of these at about 100 to 102 db

 However, i would say that maybe you could knock down like a db to my ears and get the overall response to kind of smooth out a little bit. The reason i think maybe he thinks it's bright - maybe he's got the speakers positioned more closely to a wall and in doing so maybe he's kicking up a lot of extra energy off the sidewall from the horizontal response. Because if you look at just the on axis response, we can see that through the treble, it's pretty neutral, it's about maybe plus or minus two and a half db through this entire region, actually through the entire sensitivity of the speaker until you get to the low End and there's a bump up right here and then there's another bumper right here and that's about maybe at worst plus, maybe two and a half db from the mean, which is running right around 89 to 90 db. If we go and look at the off axis response right through here, we can see that there is some kind of diffraction effect

 He is absolutely right. There is no bump in bass and he made a comment in his video and as assad. The reason i'm not telling you who these people are is because it's not a competition, i'm not trying to call anybody out. This ain't cancelled culture for listening to speakers and providing your two cents, i'm not i'm not about that life uh, i'm simply providing some content based on other reviewers experiences and looking at the data and well as well as meshing it with my own subjective experience, because That'S better in the long run than going

Best speakers under 150$?

Personally I have them paired with a Llano hybrid tube amp and they sound very warm with great soundstage, imaging, and bass response. They have a folded ribbon tweeter that sound very smooth and accurate.

Are you setting up a listening station for the desk or the room? I'm not totally clear on what you have now and what you're hoping to change.   
Your list is just speakers, and given a budget of up to $700, I'd suggest taking a look at Wharfdale's Denton 80th anniversary model. It's readily available at $600 and you can sometimes find sales or lightly used ones for as low as $400. I recently picked up a pair for $450 and love them. But, they're rear ported, and probably not the best choice to be set up so close to the wall or to your listening position, assuming the desktop approach.   
If you're also looking to replace your amp with the $700 budgeted, I haven't tried out that SMSL but don't have anything bad to say about it. What are you looking for in an amp? What will you listen to? Do you need Bluetooth? Will you play CDs or Vinyl? Do you need a radio? Do you want digital inputs or just analog?   
Reccomendations would depend a lot on your answers to those questions, but if I was going to spend $700, and wasn't worried about making something specific for the desktop / near field / close to wall listening setup, I'd probably try to spend $500 on the Dentons, and then look at used 2 channel amplifiers on eBay or my local FB marketplace. My current head unit is a NAD C320BEE, picked up locally for $150. I added Bluetooth functionality with a BluDento BLT-HD for $80, then swapped in an old Apple Airport Express to send music via Airplay, and then picked up a Cambridge Audio DAC Magic for a little over $100 used, which both improved the sound from my CD player and let me send audio from my laptop over USB.   
But now I'm just talking about my system. If you're looking to listen at a desk with speakers placed like in your photo, I'd be more inclined to just get the SMSL amp (tiny helps) and maybe either the Diamonds or the Q150s.

Hi! I am working on a new stereo system. Right now I'm stuck between a few options. Would you be kind and give me your inputs? I would like to know what are my best bets here.  
I'm working with a budget of around $700, give or take. My options are as follows:

1. **Wharfedale Diamond 11.1, $250**
2. **Wharfedale Diamond 11.2, $350**
3. **KEF Q150, $550**
4. **Klipsch R15M BLK/GNM, $350**
5. **Q Acoustics Q3030i, $480**

These are just what I found, respectably good looking and good sounding speakers. If you have any other suggestions, please, *do* point them out.

To be clear, I already have a pair of some diy speakers I made myself that are okay-ish. Maybe adding a sub and a better amp and then getting the speakers is a better way to go? I'd place the new speakers left and right, on my desk (kinda where's the laptop and the amp now, I'll manage the stands). Note that I have an audio source and an audio interface, so my music is coming out of two TSRs([Roland Rubix](https://www.roland.com/global/products/rubix22/)) going into two RCAs(amp). Yes, I am aware that this is not balanced, I am not trying to get a full balanced system.

Another really important question is: [is this amp good enough?](https://www.soundimports.eu/en/smsl-sa300.html) If not, what else should I be looking at? My current amp is a really old Philips f5213 with 30Wpc and a really annoying hiss (I guess you could say "high noise floor"?).
