I'm going to preface with he fact that I have never enjoyed coffee personally, I can't stand the taste of it - but my girlfriend loves it and I enjoy making it for her. 

Her current french press is stainless steel, and aesthetically nice - but the screen that you press down always seems to let some grounds through. 

I guess in short, is that normal? Would a newer french press add to her coffee experience in any way?

             The Espro Press P5 has a secret weapon, a special dual coffee filter. To make cold brew you add slightly more grounds than you use for hot coffee and cool water instead of hot. You also let the coffee brew in the fridge overnight and drop the plunger in the morning to filter.The cold brew drink I made, while not super concentrated like what you get from the Oxo Cold Brew Coffee Maker, Toddy or the Filtron, had a smooth and pleasing coffee taste yet still packed a punch

 A silicone gasket at the filter's top prevents coffee liquid, and solid coffee bits, from escaping filtration. The result, French Press coffee which is outstandingly clean without sacrificing the beverage's signature strength and big flavor.   

 You also let the coffee brew in the fridge overnight and drop the plunger in the morning to filter.The cold brew drink I made, while not super concentrated like what you get from the Oxo Cold Brew Coffee Maker, Toddy or the Filtron, had a smooth and pleasing coffee taste yet still packed a punch. Espro Press P5 review:
        Ultra-filtered French Press and pretty good cold brew in a pinch

 Compared with my ordinary Idylc Homes press, using only one of the two Espro metal filters (if the filters really are more fine, then a single filter should still be noticeably better) TEST 2. Use the Espro to Press coffee that was ground much more finely, for a drip machine.  For test #1, I measured exactly 18 grams of coffee for each press and ground them both with my Baratza Virtuoso burr grinder set for Coffee Press. I then set the tare on the scale and measured exactly 565g of water for each, and pressed the coffee with both, then waited 10 minutes for the grit to settle

Reduces grit very effectively as proven through experimentation, but has some imperfections.

 Overall, I feel this is just a bit too much negative to warrant the price point. Currently, the small 18oz carafe is more expensive than the 32oz carafe, so keep an eye on prices. Also, I feel the whole basket double strainer thing could be better done with a flat mesh double strainer and a squeegee-style edge. The concept is interesting but needs work

Multiple levels of filtering with one big negative...

 I'm happy to report that this press extracts the flavor and oils while filtering out the dust. Another reviewer commented that they had to press too hard. That's a symptom of too fine of a grind. They also commented that this would be good for espresso, and that is exactly the opposite of true

 I use a blade grinder for my beans and regardless of how coarse I grind them, there is still always a little dust in the gring... it's the nature of the beast

 Glass does not feel overly fragile. Most importantly, it brews a delightful cup of coffee. Pleased, will continue to use.
