 We have the sternum strap here as well, which is pretty simple, um, obviously, and we didn't have any issues like we had before on the 22 liter version of this bag, where the straps would slide out, as you can see like they're in here pretty tightly, not Going anywhere, so that's good um. There are no strap keepers, unfortunately, but for me personally it was not. A big deal was fine, so also on the back panel. You have that nice uh thick foam as well, and this is really cool because the foam is like it's pretty flexible, so the bag will sit pretty high up on your back, but the foam sort of like curves to your back, so it makes it like

 It'S the snacks and then you also have uh this pocket here, which i just have what's in here: a laptop charger and some makeup wipes. So any sort of like extra things that you need to carry you can put in this compartment here and then, if you can see, we got the evergoods 2021 right there, which is sweet. Okay, then there's also the quick grab pocket on this side. So this one is really nice has a key leash here and i just put like mouse hand cream lip balm, some earbuds, so anything that you just want like quick access to is cool

 You'Ve got that and they actually have these little holes at the bottom too. So any like dirt or moisture or anything, can just come right out there and they're really really soft and stretchy, which feels nice on the back. We have the uh the shoulder straps. So if you can see, i'm just gon na put this a little bit closer

 This is a little bit tight of a fit, as you can see. So if you have a 15 inch or larger um, you might want to carry it without the sleeve. To be honest, you don't really need a sleeve if you look like this padding on the laptop sleeve is like really nice and thick, and it does have a false bottom, so you can feel pretty safe, like putting your laptop inside even without the sleeve. So if we go back to this pocket here, you'll see on the inside this nylon webbing, which good says that you can use this to put a pen

EVERGOODS Civic Half Zip 26L (CHZ26) Review (2 Weeks of Use)

  Overall It's a great bag for urban and commute and it'll keep you valuables safe. Made by Thule means its going to be one durable backpack that will last for quite a while.

Backpack for a rainy day

 Guessing CPL will work best considering you’re carrying 2 laptops and an iPad. Their CPL line was voted best EDC bag by Carryology. I just got their CHZ 26 and am loving it (paired with their CAP1). I used their MPL v2 for about a year liked that bag a lot too

 Water bottle pockets are awesome on CHZ and MPL bags. Their CPL bags don’t have water bottles unfortunately. If you like the simplicity of their CHZ line, as long as both of your laptops aren’t thick, CHZ laptop pocket could work for you. I can carry a 14 inch IBM Thinkpad, 13 inch MacBook Pro and iPad mini in CHZ 26 laptop compartment, snug, but it fits

 Their backpack straps are understitched. This means the fabric on the underside of the straps is slightly shorter than the fabric on the outer side, so the straps have a natural curve to them to fit your body.

 If you like the simplicity of their CHZ line, as long as both of your laptops aren’t thick, CHZ laptop pocket could work for you. I can carry a 14 inch IBM Thinkpad, 13 inch MacBook Pro and iPad mini in CHZ 26 laptop compartment, snug, but it fits. You could also get a vertical laptop sleeve if you don’t want to put everything in the laptop pocket. CPL and CHZ will fit under airplane seat as personal item

- Extremely comfortable. Their backpacks are designed to be worn high, when they’re worn this way, it’s as comfortable as a bag can be without using hip straps/belt. Heavy loads don’t feel as heavy compared to other bags.

Multifunctional 20-30L backpack. Hoping to carry 1-2 14” laptops, iPad Mini, and other small EDC with room for an accordion file… I like these but wanted to see what else was recommended. Bonus points if it will fit as an airplane personal item.

A great bag that doesn't like to stand up

I'm a bag heathen--I've been using a pretty basic JanSport backpack for over six years for my daily commute, and it's been...okay...apart from the occasional loads of books and miscellaneous crap.  Problem is, it's not terribly waterproof on top of being just a bit small for my current daily load:

* a 14" laptop (which came with its own bag, but I'd prefer to keep everything in one bag for commuting purposes) and power cable/charger
* a cellphone and USB power brick
* a binder, a notebook, miscellaneous pens and such
* a small lunch tote bag and hat
* a water bottle (approx. 22oz., I think, although I occasionally lug around a 64oz. one as well in the bag)

So what I want is a new bag with a laptop compartment--preferably a well-padded one--that's at least more water-resistant if not waterproof than my poor backpack.  I don't necessarily need a lot of exterior pockets, although they wouldn't hurt, but I need at least one for my phone and some pens (maybe another for a Kindle, but that can be shoved in the main compartment in a pinch) and a few good-sized interior pockets.  It definitely has to have more internal space than my backpack, although by default I think that won't be an issue.  I'm undecided on whether it has to be another backpack or a messenger bag (I only use one shoulder strap regularly, so if it's a backpack it absolutely needs well-padded straps).  And unless it's a *really* good bag it needs to come in either basic black or gray--I absolutely, positively, do not want a pastel or overly ornamented/inscribed bag.  Budget-wise, I'd need to stay below about $150 or so unless I'm going for something truly r/onebag worthy...which is not off the table, but it'd definitely be a summer/fall buy at that point.

I’m happy with my carry system so far, but I’m looking for a Goldilocks EDC/active bag. Here are my current carry levels:

Tier 0: pockets. Phone, wallet, keys.

Tier 1: ultralight bag (North Face Flyweight) and pouch (Fjallraven Gear Bag, still awaiting a pre-ordered Evergoods CAP). So nice to keep my pockets empty (usually just phone) and be able to carry more stuff like water bottle, hat, hoodie, and other stuff in pouch like pen, SAK, Chicobag micro, and so on. Did heavy pockets + pocket pouch for a while, then sack/drawstring bag for a bit but the ultralight is far superior.

Tier 2: Looking for this next step up for office EDC (can hold 15” laptop), active (hiking/biking/motorcycle), and maybe weekend trips. Should support a chest strap, water bladder, and have two water bottle pockets (I had to abandon my Osprey Arcane Large because I got tired of carrying my insulated coffee bottle separately since the Arcane only has one side mesh pocket). Currently in this slot is an Osprey Daylite Plus, which checks a lot of boxes but capacity is very low. Presently strongly considering the Mystery Ranch Urban Assault 24.

Tier 3: Onebag travel bag. Must open clamshell and have travel features, while fitting under airline seat. Current in this slot is the Tortuga Setout Divide.

Other: a packable duffel for gym, extra stuff when traveling, etc. Looking forward to receiving my Piorama A10 tomorrow for this purpose.

Goldilocks bag

Looking to update my EDC bag / travel bag (to accompany my Briggs and Riley International carry-on) 1 bagging doesn’t work for me because cpap + bigger clothes unfortunately.

I tour manage a band so sometimes I’m carrying more than this in the bag (eg 25 lanyards, more camera gear,  mini speaker)

At the moment, I have an **Aer Gym duffle** which houses:

\- 14” Zenbook (with laptop case but hoping to ditch it with the new bag)

\- [Tenba BYOB 7](https://tenba.com/tenba-byob-7-camera-insert-black/) (camera cube)

\- Eagle creek Gear Pouch M (cords &amp; small charger) 

\- 10-15 rolls of film in a zip lock (I know too many, but you never know) 

\- Cpap hose &amp; mask in a lightweight microfiber pouch (thinking of swapping this to the [Tom Bihn Travel Tray](https://www.tombihn.com/products/small-travel-tray?variant=37625714081981))
