 We obviously did this, just started doing this video because I was probably too excited to see what the card is having my first 3080 at the studio and I've actually got to thank a friend of mine who actually lent me this video card prior to his system build. He's actually been waiting for this so really can't wait to see what this video card is all about as well as GPU testing it and seeing what it is and hopefully it's not faulty. But I don't think it will be but we'll simply find out. But look at the card here, I can see obviously EVGA in this series have got the three fans, that's pretty much what they've all done so far

 But studio we've got a 3080 here, let's check it out and see what it's all about. All right so let's just see what you get in the box here with the EVGA XC3 Ultra. So you get the GPU itself, nice in there. It does come with a supporting bracket as well

 It's also got a backplate on here which is pretty nice from what EVGA have done. But I know what you guys are waiting for. Obviously people have been begging me on the discord channel to see what this car can actually is capable of doing with FPS as well as its cooling capabilities. I really can't wait to check this out

 So if you were going to go for Intel or AMD the 3080 will be the best suited for either or. 3070 hasn't been released yet so I can't do much more of that. 3090 I think it's a bit overpriced for the consumer grade people who actually want to just buy a gaming rig just to have you know obviously have play some games or even do some video editing even streaming as well. If you were going to stream both well I'm talking about from the Intel side Intel and AMD that's your personal preference but having here the 3080 from EVGA I've got to say they've actually done a really good job because I was managed to stream and have everything running on ultra as well as be able to game as what I wanted to do at the same time

EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 Ultra Review

Bought a prebuilt PC for first time in 20 years because I wanted an RTX 3080. I actually really like this layout!

 It is loud, but I play with headset and loud games so not the worst part. The worst part is that all research I did showed that this thing is 100% faster that the 1080ti across the board and in some cats much more. But the proof is in the pudding and while it was fun checking out Quake II RTX my gains in Hunt Showdown were not even apparent at all at times. Like it can not even do 120FPS@ 1080p

 It's interesting though, because it's a little bit different It's interesting though because this is probably the most out there NVIDIA has ever gone with their Their founder's edition design. It doesn't follow reference spec in terms of the board layout or any of that It's all custom. It doesn't follow any of the norms and obviously it's a whole new design But the graphics card manufacturers and the board partners are I feel kind of in this really weird position They have to get they have to make it new in some way and I feel like that's some of the problem That you're going to find with AIBs this time around is because this is a huge jump in performance Over 20 series. I feel like they they're pressured maybe pressuring themselves into finding this huge jump in aesthetics And that's really not going to happen

 So let's go ahead and talk about the 3080 here the XC3 So this is not a for the win. So it doesn't have ICX technology and EVGA has their own custom ICX cards available as well I chose this model when I when we talked about which models to send because I wanted the ones that are closer to MSRP MSRP being 699 dollars in the founder's edition card I mistakenly said it's an 800 dollar card because I'm so used to that founder's edition hundred dollar tax That doesn't exist this time around so founder's edition and MSRP are the same So it's important to remember that this card is actually 50 dollars more than the founder's edition 50 dollars more than the founder's edition card. It's just This actually was Phil's favorite design of all of the EVGA cards they ever made and so this this is why we're comparing it because I feel like we've sort of lost our way a little bit here In terms of just Cleanliness, I think sleek sleek is an aesthetic too. Sometimes less is more And that's what it kind of looks like from that angle

 I think NVIDIA is doing like a raffle where you could win one kind of a thing, but This card is going to probably be it's going to be available in every region EVGA sells and Believe it or not. It's not the most outlandish design we've ever seen but you know what I I know I'm harping on something that seems really superficial I just look at this way if you're spending seven hundred and fifty dollars, right? This is fifty dollars more on the founder's edition card It's got to be something I can look at and not Just be immediately struck with something. I don't like I'm holding it this way because as you can see if you have any case lighting It's going to illuminate that crap out of that red trim, but you know what though? It's not the most out most outlandish design.  It's the EVGA XC3 Ultra version, and we're going to be running it through its paces. We've already got it in our benchmarking system, and I'm looking at a number of things, from what resolutions this card's best suited to run at, what the realistic performance expectations are from the card. I'm running the benchmarks differently to many of the sites you will see. Typically, to benchmark various cards, you would run them at highest settings to try and find the biggest performance differences between them

 We've also managed to lay our hands on an RTX 3070 and an RTX 3060 Ti, and we're going to be running them through their paces as well in order to advise you as to which is going to be the best graphics card for your needs. The RTX 3060 Ti looks really impressive at 1440p, and it's posting some really great numbers in games like Flight Simulator 2020 where it does really well at 1440p, but also the demanding AAA titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider have got some interesting results there. Other things that we're intrigued to test on this card are things like the RTX and the DLSS performance, and certainly DLSS shows some interesting results in more preliminary testing, and I'm going to be looking into that more. It may well be that the DLSS features in games where it's enabled is a real game changer on this card and allows you to run at way higher settings and with RTX on with almost no loss of visual quality at all

I was forced to use this card due to a mini-itx build, but it has some of the best specs for the price! Gave it 4 stars because their stupid software is the worst for fan control. You have to click certain buttons to retain the settings, and at one point I had all fans off for a day because their software is AWFUL. If X1 isn't running the fans will be off it doesn't make any sense.  RDR2 game the fans sounded like a F14 fighter jet, but tweaking the fan curves and not playing on max settings the fans aren't bad at all while gaming

I've had an EVGA 550TI card last over 12 years and I've trusted EVGA, but their software people should be ashamed. SHAME!!!!

A computer IT experts honest opnions

 So like, okay, cool. So I look on Amazon and I'm just looking around and I actually find a 3080 for around $860, right? That's obviously before taxes and all that. So I was like, Hey, that's like the lowest has ever been like ever. So I snagged me one and it only shipped in two days, even though it said literally it would, the estimate delivery would be like, like March, May 30th to June 1st, no, shipped in two days

 So yeah, it's hovering around the 380 to 400 FPS range uncapped, which is more than enough than I need. Obviously I have a 144 monitor, so it doesn't really all that matter too much, but the fact that it can render that it's pretty good. So if I decide to like upgrade to 240 Hertz monitor or something like that, I should be set for this game. So yeah, overall, I'm pretty impressed

 I'll, I'll test like a game, probably like rocket league or something, and then we'll move forward. So now I have, uh, the PCA has restarted. So now I'm going to start rocket league and we're going to have a little test, we'll play through and see how well it runs. So let's go ahead and start it right here
