 I sleep in a Smittybilt rooftop tent that comes with a 3-inch foam mattress which honestly is not that comfortable. I end up feeling like I've been sleeping on a hardwood floor all night which got me thinking there has to be a better option out there. So after some research I came across this the X-Bed Megamat 10 which had tons of really positive reviews about it and a lot of people are actually swapping out the rooftop tent mattress with it. So with a two-month trip to Korea in which I knew I was going to be spending every single day sleeping on the floor I thought this was a good opportunity to go ahead and purchase this and give it a try and I have to say after spending two months sleeping on it and traveling all over Korea this is definitely the best camping mattress I've ever come across

 Sharp objects and punctures. It hasn't been a problem for me yet and it's made of a durable laminated polyester but I have been very careful over the past two months of sleeping on it. I would just be careful if you have pets or other sharp objects because it is an Air mattress and I could see it getting a hole. Finally the price $350 for the Megamat 10 Duo LW is no small chunk of change

 What I like about this mattress, the hybrid construction combines comfy body contouring support of a Foam mattress and the adjustability of the Air mattress resulting in ultimate comfort. Next it is compact and lightweight. It only weighs 10 pounds and it can fit in a suitcase. Furthermore being an Air mattress I could also leave it in the roof tint and save time and space because it will deflate when the tent is being folded up

Look for the Exped Megamat. If you get the Duo version you can both fit on it. It's comfy enough that I use it for guests at home too.

What it comes down to is that the fairly thin and lightweight backpacking style sleep pads that I have just aren't comfortable enough for her. Her complaint is that they aren't thick enough for her (admittedly they are pretty thin).

I'm thinking something like a double wide pad for couples that doesn't need to be particularly lightweight or compact since we would use it mostly for car camping but just a plain inflatable mattress is still to big and bulky to fit in the tent that I have. Her main complaint with the ones I already have is that they are to thin for her. She has fairly wide hips and sleeps on her sides so it might be that she's bottoming out and digging into the ground.

Right now I have my eye on a Klymit Double Klymaloft pad but they seem to be always sold-out and also $250+. I figured it wouldn't hurt to see what other's might be using and what their suggestions were. Thanks!

 It's tough enough for regular use, although our cat's claws did make some pinholes when I was foolish enough to let him claim it as his own one day. Fortunately, the provided patch kit works, and I'll keep the cat away from the mattress from now on. I won't be using the Megamat Duo 10 on hike or canoe trips, but for car camping, backyard sleepouts, or house guests, it really provides a comfortable, supportive, and packable mattress that's as close as I've experienced to sleeping in a bed.  This thing retails for $369, which is crazy. I bought it on REI's Labor Day sale for $275, I think, which at least makes me feel like I got a good deal, but it's not so expensive for an air mattress. But if it gives me any better sleep in the back country or at a car camping thing, and I can just go on to work feeling refreshed, it'll be worth every penny. So that's it

 So on REI's recent Labor Day sale, I picked up the Exped Mega-Mat Duo 10, and I'm hoping that that solves both problems. So I want to say that this is just going to be an introduction, as I just got this in the mail a few days ago myself, and I hope to follow up with a short-term gear review after this season of car camping and see how it weathers several months of hard use. All right, upon opening this thing, it ships in this sort of handy carrying bag. This serves as a handle

 When I initially started going on trips with my daughters, I just started with just a basic Coleman air mattress, but in the winter in Texas, those things have basically no R value at all. The summer is unpalatable, so we go in the winter, and I would just wake up on most trips, cool the cold, coming up to the bottom of the air mattress. So then I switched to sleeping on two, the NeoAir backpouching mattresses, which definitely solved my warmth issue, but created a whole other issue of they're just not comfortable. I use them on backpacking trips out of necessity, but I don't want to use them car camping

 I suggest switching to an electric pump if you can find an adapter. Let's talk about this mat specifically now. It has an R value of 9.5, which is incredibly warm

Exceptionally comfortable

 The sidewalls are vertical, which maximizes sleeping space. The sleeping surface is flat, not baffled. The laminated polyester surface fabric is soft against the skin, and it's not noisy when moving around in bed. As for bouncing, it's very minimal even when there's another person sharing the mattress, which is one of the benefits of having a self-inflating mattress instead of an air mattress

 I like that I can walk, stomp, and bounce all over it, and it's easily the most comfortable two-person mattress that I have. It's my go-to mattress whenever I'm car camping or backyard camping, or for unexpected guests. Oh, and warranties also for five years. So for the added durability and comfort, I say yes, it's worth the price
