If you could only use ONE bass for the rest of your life what would you pick and why?

 After playing upright I can say it's nice to have fret markers a fast neck is great as long as you are hitting the notes. After purchasing another American Jazz I can say for about the same money you are getting a quality instrument(Electronics, solid fit and finish and a perfect FENDER Sound. Yes, the Alder is heavy and the bass is beefy but Leo got it right the first time around. If you really want that Fender growl and punch

 I think I always equate it to that, but that's just me, but very bright, very modern sounding jazz bass, lightweight, very thin too. The profile on it's super, super thin and kind of the Aerodyne neck plate on that guy too. Again, always kind of dug these bases and I don't, I've never owned one, but just playing this thing and getting like the wide array of tones that we'll pull out of it in a second. You kind of see why this thing can be such a popular bass and why we do get a lot of requests for it

 Let's go back to the bridge pickup, pull out some of that mid range kind of throatiness that we get, great harmonics. Let's roll that neck pickup, neck pickup, we'll get a little bit of that P bass, you can get close to P bass, but that's just burpy and kind of throaty as you're going to get out of it. Why is basswood considered as shote compared to ash and alder? And are all MIJ fender basses made of basswood?

Magnificent. Great amount of tonal range with the Jazz and Precision pickups. I still need to adjust the action and change the strings to make this more playable. However, those are rather easy things to fix when the body of the bass guitar and the electronics are so sound

 Get yourself a nice bass amp and learn how to play, and you're going to sound awesome.

Plays Beautifully

 This is so much fun. Let's roll off the tone. Oh, yeah. I think they can figure that one out
