FiiO FH3

I just purchased the FiiO FH3, based on a ton of reviews these things are supposed to be amazing. They're supposed to have great bass quality, clarity, etc.

CONCLUSION FIIO have evolve tremendously with the time, and their tuning experience show up their result with a confident tonal balance approach where neutrality meet slight bass boost for extra musicality pleasure. The level of technical prowess we got for such a price is quite impressive, delivering high level of clarity, clean precise imaging, fast yet snappy attack and a refined near reference neutral sound that wasn’t imaginable at this price 5 years ago. Thanks to the very capable Knowles BA they use, the timbre, while a bit cold, is far from artificial or harsh like we can find with most sub-150$ Hybrid IEM even today

Everything just sounded so right and wide sounding with so much detail. I absolutely love these and don't see myself getting other headphones unless I am truly wowed with them.

($129) fiio fh3: bassy and fun, attractive design, imaging and soundstage are very good for the price, vocals might be a bit recessed, but the bass and treble make up for it. ($79) moondrop aria: default iem pick under $100, almost similar sound signature to Kato with a few drawbacks that are worth it for a $110 price gap.

Headphones on the other hand start having diminishing returns after about $700. You can get a super solid IEM for around $150-$300 or so such as Fiio FH3, Shuoer Tape Pro, Ikko OH-10, JVC HA-FDX1 or Moondrop Starfields. For headphones basically either Hifiman Sundara, Hifiman Ananda, Monolith M1070, or Beyerdynaminc DT1990 Pros are superb headphones.

Boosting the 11k and 15k regions by a few dB brought the sparkle right out in these and made them shine. The details that the FH3 eeks out in the treble is unreal, and they put my Moondrop Aria's to absolute shame, both technically and in terms of tonality. I feel like I can hear EVERYTHING, right down to compression noise and cuts in edits in sound clips in games and music (and in samples used in music).
