 Welcome everyone to Jim's review! [music] Going over the physical features first, some things to point out right away: there's now a new metal / plastic housing to hold all your electronics in there, but sadly though, it's still only splash, rain and sweat proof. Fitbit Clearly discloses on the website this is still not shower proof and for swimmers again, you're out of luck now. The band itself is nearly identical, so those who are familiar with the Fitbit charge HR Comfort wise, it feels practically the same: same stretchiness or elasticity, the same secure locking mechanism, and is practically the same size. If there is any different than measurements, it's very minimal

 here there were times I had just stopped running to look down at the band and you can see the heart rate dropping here and then I would then pick up and continue running. Now in the end, there is still some variability amongst all these charts here, but amazingly for a risk based heart rate tracker, it's pretty accurate and it does perform well. So in the end here, comparing to the old model, the Charge: HR This is seriously a huge upgrade though with better wrist bands. we don't have to worry about those defective bands anymore, that's hoping the display is bigger

 So to the point that you've been waiting for here, how does the HR data look? Risk-based trackers most of them that I've tested so far. there's always some variability with the charge - I ran against one of my chest straps which has been tried and true. very accurate and with my first graph a smooth and consistent run my experience it was great for the most part the charge - was very accurate and then performing another run about 1/3 of the way through. I'm pretty sure I had adjusted the chest strap so the hunt looked a little bit funky there, but the Fitbit charge surprisingly did very well afterwards

 Again, not a big deal, but something that I noticed on my particular unit. Now rotating to the back, there's your heart rate sensor, which I'll show you how accurate this is later in the video, but there's also of course you're charging pins now. Better Life is claimed to be up to five days, just like the previous model and from my testing which included six separate runs at a mile each to give you somewhat of a comparison to how much you personally run on it in any given week here, but I was able to get six days and four hours worth of battery life. Now keep in mind this is of course with the HR sensor on using the GPS off of the phone and receiving notifications, not the actual results I've gotten so far has been good considering there's a bigger screen and more features, but compared to all other mid-range trackers on the markets, 5 to 7 days is usually the average or the norm

Lastly, I love my FitBit. If you like measurement, I’d encourage you getting one of these. If your unable to afford it, I’ll send you my FitBit Charge 2 if you’d like it? I switched addictions to my steps and activity minutes!

My health has been really bad lately I’m 293 pounds and 24 years old, quit my minimum wage job so I can focus on my health. I am 68 days sober from a major alcohol addiction of 5+ years of binge drinking every day, 35 days sober from marijuana, spent all the remaining money I had on this setup.

 I went to the fitbit site and followed troubleshooting: restart being the first step, for which it says I'll see the logo and the device will vibrate. No vibration. I sent a message on twitter and they're looking into it. This is a no-go if it doesn't get fixed

 Some of the more recent (I can only speak from Android point of view) changes made negatively affected the reaction of FitBit connectivity and function. The app made changes which look like they are trying to implement paid services for what we used to get and all hell broke loose. Please see app reviews before purchasing for latest info. FitBit's response is for us to make changes to our phone instead of them fixing their app (currently)

New to Fitbit, New to All of it...meh

 Let's say you get a call or text message. the Fitbit will notify me about that. Sometimes that's a nice if you have your phone in your bag, your phone in your pocket. you might miss that, but if it's on your wrist vibrating, you're going to know about it

 Now I went through and I compared all of them to figure out which one was the best match for me. In terms of basic features, you have steps, calories, and distance. It turns out that every tracker that Fitbit has supports that one thing I'd like to do is when I go hiking or when I say go up fours in a building. It's fun to be able to keep track of how many floors you go up

 I want a high quality Fitbit that is water proof, slim, and has wearable clip options rather than just a band.

 I hope for future models they are able to fix this and make it able to read heart rate no mater what as long as it's on your wrist.  And if I had a wishlist: I'd love to see the weather/temperature on my Fitbit. Thanks:)))  p.s

I felt the Apple Watch was not as sleek, more masculine and less flexiblilty for workouts. Just kind of boxy.  At around 2 years either the battery starts losing its ability to hold charge or it stops tracking heart rate. Unfortunately it appears that there aren't really any consistently good fitness trackers in the under $200 category, so it is a matter of picking your poison. I'm staying with Fitbit because my community of friends are all on the software, but I long for a day when a durable and affordable fitness tracker is on the market.

 This alone seemed to fix all of the issues that I was having with the pain in my arm. It should be said that in my experience when compared to a chest strap monitor, the tighter curvature of the actual Fitbit product seemed to provide more accurate data. However, the wider curvature of the off-brand band relieved all of my wrist pain issues. The difference in stat tracking was, in my experience, very slight, so I have opted to simply buy off brand bands to avoid the wrist pain

 What solved the problem was when I ordered an additional band from a manufacturer other than Fitbit. When I put the new band on, I realized that the curvature around my wrist was a little wider. This alone seemed to fix all of the issues that I was having with the pain in my arm.
