 Now the best way to do this? well. The only way to do this is if you go to the Fitbit dashboard on your laptop. we log on and change your straddler. I'll leave a link in the description on how to set your stride length and how to work out the calculations

 First advice I would give about when you're setting up your Fitbit is to set the watch on auto in terms of monitoring your heart rate so that when you do have it off which sometimes you might want to go in the shower and this is not shower proof is a really splash proof you don't want it to keep trying to monitor your heart rate and that would drain the battery quite a bit. I Like the fact that you can customize the display as well so you can decide whether you want to see the clock first or if you more interested in tracking your steps, you can decide to have that first. I've only really started to know the full capabilities of the watch and it really is quite amazing. One of my favorite features is the fact that you can hold the button on the side and you hold it for about two or three seconds or to start a new kind of stopwatch and that's for if you're going for a run then it will just monitor your heart rate and all the other things that Fitbit normally does monitor

 I would say I use it almost every day. If you have a phone with everlasting battery which iPhones are definitely out the question then you can keep it connected and any time you get a text or call you get a vibration and the Fitbit and it will come up with either the name or the subject of the message that you just got. Today we're going to look at the Fitbit charge HR The price range for one of these in the UK is around 100 to 120 pounds. You can get this from any electronics shop, so PC Ward Argos You can also get one of these on eBay for around 84 pounds. I'll leave some links below in the description. I've had my Fitbit for about three months now and it's free to be quite durable to be honest

The fitbit does a few things better, most notably its auto start recording a low-impact activity like a walk was much more accurate, and since I take a slow walk every day it's a small issue. The reminders to move are better implemented too, and like I said - the whole UX flow seems a little more slick. Oh BTW, for me the garmin's sleep tracking seems to be better, which I've learned goes against common knowledge.

 It gives me steps for brushing my teeth, typing, shaking my ready-to-drink breakfast shake, etc. I am unsure that the MS Band is really accurate, either, but it does at least seem less inaccurate. Yesterday, overall, the Fitbit registered 1300 more steps than the MS Band. On a morning run today, the MS Band credited me with 3636 in 26 minutes, which is plausible

 The Fitbit only gave me 2210, which is obviously way too low.  Finally, I went to the Fitbit website yesterday and saw many many users complaining about steps inaccuracy -- it seems if you want accuracy, this is not the way to go. If you just want a very rough idea of your relative activity level compared to other days, the Fitbit is ok.  I think mine will go back -- but first: Anyone use anything like this and have some insight?

 Interested if any users or buyers have thoughts to add via the Comments?  What I wanted is listed below, but there is no one tracker on the market that does all these specific things. I got #1 and #2 from my old Omron pedometer, but the battery case won't stay shut on that after 6 years of daily wear and triannual battery changes, so I need to change to something else:  1 accurate step count  2 the ability to tell how many steps I do when exercising (Omron calls them "aerobic steps" and counts them separately from the bits and pieces you do as you wander off to get a cup of coffee, etc.)  3 an easy to read screen and notifications of calls and, especially, texts, because my kids don't understand that their mother is too old to remember to check her texts every 5 minutes but young enough to answer the darned phone if they would just call instead when they need me urgently  4 analysis of my sleep patterns because I know I don't get enough  5 vibration prods to make me get up and move regularly as I tend to be at keyboard a lot  6 easy to use and detailed software to follow the data gathered  Ok. So NONE of the wristbands on the market will do #2

 But the two categories that really are of interest here with the app itself. So the first one here is the exercise mode. and when you initially when you start work out, you hold down the button on side to initiate the process and it tracks your heart rate. And the cool thing about this is that it really breaks it down

 Overall though, the 149.95 cost is $20 more than the standard Fitbit charge, but for serious fitness individuals, they'll really appreciate what the heart rate sensor is going to do for them because it's always active now. It might not be the most feature-rich a wearable fitness tracker, but it's simple and it has a good amount of versatility. And for the $20 difference between this and the charge, it's not bad of an option

 Now it connects via bluetooth and you do have call notifications, so if you get an incoming phone call, you'll see who it is and the phone number, but it won't display things like text messages or email notifications like that. Now we're not going to talk too much about the app because it's the same thing It's compatible with Android iOS and Windows Phone, so a good amount of compatibility there. But the two categories that really are of interest here with the app itself. So the first one here is the exercise mode

 so it tells you when when your heart rate is at the peak mode, cardio, or a fat-burning mode and it tracks it all in this neat graph. The other category here is with the the heart rate itself. It even measures things like their resting heart rate, so the more fit you are, the less your hearts needs to beat or work and you get to track that over time, which is pretty useful Now Unfortunately though, it's still played by those Phantoms that movements you wave your hand like this and it thinks that it's a step. So that's still problem that we find with this unit

Fitbit Charge HR Review

 Loved it. Step counter was great! Really helped motivate me to push a little more to reach goals. Something I think is really important if you want to get into shape or maintain good health. The design is good

 Something that is combined with other apps to track walks and runs on maps and stuff. Water resistance. Several times I found myself in the shower with the Charge HR still on. I think at the very least, any fitness tracker needs to be shower proof if not water proof

  What I didn't like about the Fitbit Charge HR (and I think rightfully it should have had) with the exception of it's fatal flaw I discuss at the end of this review: The Charge HR did not have the hourly activity reminder. I am one of those people who can sit down to work on a computer and have three hours go by before I notice I've been sitting too long. This should have been something added to it (or worked through the app). I have seen posts by others online who were surprised that it did not have this feature also

 It's my steps, why can't I use them in whatever app I want? GPS tracking. Other Fitbit models have this so not a knock against the HR, just something I think the "perfect" tracker should have. Something that is combined with other apps to track walks and runs on maps and stuff. Water resistance

Great device. Great app. Fatal flaw and it's replacement won't be a Fitbit device - this really should be a 1 star rating

Long story short, the watch cannot do the simple count steps add calories, log workout add calories thing that I could do with my ancient Fitbit charge hr. Did they improve any of these issues with wearos 3 and updated apps?.

 None of the 3 made it accurate, but attaching it to my shoe got it closer--170 steps were tracked out of the 200. Mind you, I paid extra for the heart rate monitor--which is not tracked attached to my shoe.  DO NOT BUY THIS TRACKER IF YOU WANT TO USE A TREADMILL. Some people on the FitBit forums say they don't have an issue with treadmills

 After the first few days I don't wear it to sleep either. I'm not sure that having that thing on 24 hours a day is a good thing. I do think it would be a good way to track how many hours of sleep you are getting and would be eye-opening how many nights are less than they should be (at least for me). I'm just ready to take it off once I get to bedtime

 I can't quite decide if this is good or not--I don't feel like folding laundry is the equivalent of taking steps. A friend pointed out that you are exerting yourself, but is it apples-to-apples? I'm thinking not. I do two loads a day every day, so it might be throwing off my steps in a significant way if it is overshooting my steps. Maybe I shouldn't worry about the grocery cart and call it good

  - Calorie calculations seem to be too high in general, though seemingly conservative for cardio activities like bicycling. I've disconnected the Charge HR from the MyFitnessPal application, as I think it was providing misleading information regarding the amount of calories that I could take in each day. I lost 60 pounds using MyFitnessPal before purchasing the Charge HR. The integrated information seemed to be encouraging eating at a much higher level than my experience of the last 9 months would suggest was appropriate

 I don't find the application very intuitive. Heart rate information shows a graph, but doesn't really let you drill down to find the heart rate at any given time. The ability to log activities after the fact is clumsy and sometimes unsucessful.  - Syncing seems glitchy, especially with the desktop app using the Bluetooth dongle

 Replacements are $20 for a 6 - 8 inch cable :-(  - There is NO WAY to tell the device's battery level from the display. NONE! The only time that the battery level is displayed on the device is when it's running very low or when it's plugged in. Otherwise, you need to sync the device and look on the application to see the battery level. Even then, you get "Full", "Medium", "Low" and (something like) "Critical"
