I have the Fluance Ai41 powered speakers in my kitchen and they sound pretty nice. I think they are around $250.

I honestly have no idea what I’m doing so the more someone can dumb this down for me, the better. I bought my husband the RT81 as a present, and got confused thinking “built-in preamp” meant speaker. Obviously, now I know that’s wrong. Now, I need to know what other pieces I need to buy to get it to work. I know I need speakers (but what CHEAP kind to buy??) and possibly and amp? (Still no idea if I need one or not) can someone please help me figure out what I need to buy and the cheapest thing that will work for it? I definitely didn’t expect to be spending more than the amount of the record player, so the cheaper the better. I can always replace the items as time goes on.

Completely confused- Fluance RT81

 I've reached out to the seller, hopefully we can resolve the bluetooth issue since I really want to keep them, if we can't I will have to return them.

I got these speakers because and I wanted to reduce the amount of wires on my desk. Unfortunately the bluetooth has been awful so far. Big delays when watching youtube videos and stutters when trying to watch streams on Twitch up to sometimes just completely unable to recognize a stream is playing. I've updated all my drivers and tried the speakers with my laptop and iphone, sadly the results are the same

 I've replaced these with a pair of klipsch speakers, which render extremely clear audio.

 Set-up was easy although I had to buy an additional usb cord to connect them to computer. They definitely are powerful, but the audio is muddled and nasally. Those speakers are exactly what I’m looking for: my TT already has a built in pre-amp, and those speakers would allow me to connect directly to my TT without needing a receiver or amp. Plus they have Bluetooth connectivity. Any great suggestions similar to the Fluance ai41’s would be superb!

I've fallen into the trap of getting my first real real audiophile stereo set up. How does a full denafrips stack sound? Does anyone have any experience with the Denafrips Ares II, the Denafrips Hades preamp, and the Denafrips Thallo amp? From what I've seen, they are quality and give a slightly warm and "grunty" sound which would seem to go well with the speakers I'm looking at the KLH model 5's. 
Also if I'm streaming from a powernode 2i, is the ares even needed? 

Does anyone have any advice/experience with these components? Please and thank you :)

Now I am searching for a new speaker that I can put into my device. But I can't find the exact same ones. Hi, I am researching to purchase a new speaker set up for my new apartment. I would like to spend $250-$300 but can probably spend up to $400. I am obsessed with music quality so I am looking for a set up that does not compromise on sound. I have owned Edifier systems growing up and most recently a Google Home Max (which was surprisingly a really good speaker system for a smart home speaker, but I don’t have it anymore). I do not want monitor speakers but wouldn’t be opposed to bookshelf speakers with stands. I will primarily be listening to music (via a turntable, bluetooth, and through my smart tv) and mixing on my DJ controller, but want to connect it to my television for a home theater system as well. Most common music genres will be Rock, Instrumental, House/Techno and Soul. Space-wise I’m moving into a studio so not very large in dimensions, but I want a system I can build on as time passes. I am willing to buy used speakers too (depending on the deal because of the risk) but am actively searching for Black Friday deals. Located on the West Coast in the U.S.. I have been saving up to build my audio system as a pet project and would love any advice. Thanks in advance!

I want a nice 2.0 setup for PC gaming. I would prefer that it was easy to add a subwoofer as an upgrade later on, the AD18 seems to have this option. Could I do better than this at a 600€ budget?

Just bought an Edifier R1700BTs as desktop speakers. The sound seems a tad muddied on spotify, particularly listening to podcast voices - less clear than even my car speakers or google earbuds, so I'm not that picky. Speaking voices are too..."base-y" or rumbly? Not sure the right word.

It's connected by 3.5mm to an Alienware R8 desktop, and on Bluetooth to mobile Spotify

What I'm doing wrong? Do I need an isolation stand? If so, any budget friendly recommendations? Seems weird to pay 100 for a stand on speakers that cost 150.

My goals are 1) hifi setup for my record collection and 2) the ability to also use my receiver as the base for multi-room streaming. At the moment, planning to start with a Yamaha R-N303 (8 ohm, 100W/100W, wifi capable) because my understanding is that receiver makes sense to upgrade first and that the 6/8 ohm mismatch isn't a big deal for regular listening.

Where should I start? Looking to spend around $200-400 this Christmas and upgrade everything else over time.

I have a friend who has a turntable setup and he recommended me some powered speakers: the Klipsch r51pms. However, I reached out to AudioAdvice and they recommended I get Peachtree M25s. The price difference isn't huge and I'm wondering what y'all would suggest. We are both very into rock and emo music, in addition to some jazz, rap, and folk stuff. I don't really understand the differences in speakers here and would just love advice. 

One note though, the main reason these two were suggested to me is size - We have a large main living area but only a small mantle where I can place the speakers- they need to be high because of new dog :).  So ideally not the biggest speakers but can fill the room well enough. Doesn't need to be the best ever, this is our first system. My overall budget is \~$400 for speakers but I have a little flex room. Thanks!

One other question: is it safe to purchase speakers on FB marketplace being as much of a novice as i am?

Klipsch R-820f speakers are on sale right now for half off. Thought of getting some for my first speaker setup. I  know very little about these things however. I assume I need some sort of receiver to connect them. Any recommendations on a budget receiver for these particular speakers? I'm planning to use them for streaming, video games, and music.

Hey, so I got a pair of Yamaha HS8's connect to my computer trough a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 to make music. The problem is that I want to connect a record player with these speakers at the same time it's connected to my computer. What do I do?

Hi I presently use a modi/magni stack with my pc primarily with headphones. There are some Bose Companion 2 Series 2 speakers connected as well but I'm looking to upgrade. I want something with a small profile for nearfield listening & I'm leaning towards the Audioengine HD3 (they'd be about 2 feet from wall & same for me & about 4 feet apart. I have two questions.

What would the noticeable benefit be of perhaps also getting the S8 subwoofer (I'd plan to place on carpet beneath desk? I'm not opposed to spending more & I get the basic concept of offloading base onto sub but wondering if I'd really notice when close to them in a small 14 foot square room. On related note I presume isolation pads/stands only really worth considering on an uncarpeted wooden floor?

Also the speakers come with a 16 gauge cable would there be any real benefit to upgrading to 14 gauge or is this only really beneficial when placing much further apart than a couple feet?

I am having trouble selecting the correct sound field for surround sound. Read the manual and confused myself even more. Yamaha HTR-5940 (Yes its old) with optical cable. I have a 6 speaker setup and have been using 6 channel stereo for years but realized this isn't correct for movie or TV watching since it outputs all sound equally. Can someone explain these presets to me like I'm an idiot or just tell me what to choose. I just want the most basic surround sound setup

I'm having a hard time choosing between these two because there are little to no reviews about the speakers (especially the Genelec!)

I recently stumbled upon a pretty great deal for a set of Aperion Audio Intimus 6t speakers. These have an impedance of 6ohms. I'm currently using a Pioneer VSX-453 receiver that has an output of 100watts per channel at an 8ohm minimum. Not the highest quality receiver but it's met my needs thus far. Can I use the Pioneer with the Aperions at all? I'd be open to upgrading and have been considering doing so for a while now. Budget is pretty tight at $200 or less so used is of course no issue. Any recommendations for receivers rated at 6ohms that are easy to come by?

Edit: Mostly used for movies and listening to vynyl: rock, folk, blues, some jazz.

I am not sure what splitter/extractor to buy to make everything work (or if I even need one).
