The Geratherm Mercury Free Oral Glass is a traditional glass model. No batteries, no buttons; the benefit of this product is that it is as simple as it gets. It comes with a calibrated insert that allows you to see both Fahrenheit and Celsius readings simultaneously. It is also highly accurate if the patient can hold it in place properly.
There are a few drawbacks to this model. First, readings take over three minutes, compared to an average of a couple of seconds for all other products in this review. Readings can also be difficult to discern since the glass has to be held at the right angle, and the font is small and thin. It is also not ideal for small children or adults who might have trouble keeping it adequately positioned under the tongue for that long. However, this is the perfect choice for those who prefer a conventional and precise option.

It is okay, if your have an inferno temperature, otherwise it only goes to 98⁰ even. Physical trainers, diabetics and others need more accuracy about their means temperature. It would be better to buy two cheap $2.99 numbers for a back up thermometer, although most of us will buy one of these and two of the cheap ones or one of these and a more expensive digital one

 It is not shaped like a standard thermometer but rather is shaped like an hourglass, sort of. It makes it very difficult to keep in your mouth and you can't really keep your mouth closed around the thick glass part. I think the company is good, and the product was well intentioned, but the shape of the glass is not very practical. I will have to buy another one

 Now down to 99.2 after going to clinic and changing my treatment some more.  A few months ago when I was having chills it did register 101.  Since getting this thermometer 4 months ago there were times where I had normal readings but I trust it is because I did not have a fever and not due to malfunction of the thermometer itself

 I clean with alcohol, shake down with my wrist to reset, place under my tongue, close lips around it tightly for 5 minutes using my phone with timer. Thank you for such a wonderful product. Registered Nurse (Masters Prepared).
