 If you plan on using this monitor for productivity or content creation, work in addition to gaming, having the panel being flat, will eliminate any potential distortions from showing flat content on a curved screen, it's also potentially better for those viewing from a larger than normal viewing distance. The rest of the design is typical of gigabytes and non-oris monitors in that it's basic but functional. The panel section on the front does have a rather large chin that perhaps could have been smaller, but the rest is standard. I’m secretly upgrading my husbands battle station and need monitor help

  The refresh rate is outstanding. I am used to 60hz so the jump to 144hz has been amazing. I have a 2080 and 5950x in my PC but never noticed how smooth it actually was until getting this monitor. That has been the only positive I have gotten out of this

I am looking into buying a good ultrawide monitor, it would be good if it is 1440p and at least 100hz. I am not fixed on IPS, but would not like idea of VA with bad viewing angles.

Colors are also very important for me, I use my PC foe gaming but preffer to be on preattier side, rather than exceptionally fast. 

I know I cant get something premium for this price tag, but I am looking for best thing at that price level.

Looking for good ultrawide monitor for under 650$

 If it was a smooth reflective finish you could avoid exposure by angling it. Response time is nice. There's no controller so be prepared to bunch over your desk for hours and hours over the lifetime of this unit. Joystick on back feels extremely cheap

No remote. Good response. No auto off.

It has a great build quality and stand, thin bezel, multiple USB, Display Port and HDMI inputs, the highest refresh rate of any budget QHD ultra wide and doesn't have any ghosting/tearing issues that the other budget models had in YouTube reviews when running GPU sync. HDR functionality isn't mind blowing but still better than the other budget models except for maybe the MSI, which has input lag issues. I was too impatient to wait for delivery so I drove about an hour to the nearest MicroCenter to compare and made my final decision.

Okay, so i'm upgrading from an ancient monitor that I got from a friend when my laptop screen broke. It's a super old VGA monitor with a pretty damn square-ish aspect ratio, so... now I want a new ultrawide monitor. I realized that I couldn't even play FPS games on this monitor because the latency is so enormous.   
Anyway, I have a limited budget of around $500 so I've gone with these options so far:

**Philips 346E2CUAE**

**AOC CU34P2A** 

**MSI MAG342CQRV**

**Xiaomi Mi Curved Gaming Monitor 34"**

**LG 35WN75C-B**  


They're all almost exactly $500, i'd say between $450 and 500 at least. I'd like to spend even less but none of the screens under that price are curved and i've heard that's a big plus with ultrawide.   


So what I'll use it for is MOSTLY work-related. I'm upgrading mostly to not have to look at my tiny work-laptop that's probably like 12" as a secondary display, it's getting annoying af because my current setup means that i'm always craning my neck to see that screen.   
I do however game just a little bit, but it's mostly pretty non-demanding stuff, my computers aren't exactly top-of-the-line, but refresh rate is secondary to practical features and a nice design.   
I like stylish and minimalistic and i'm not huge on the gamer aesthetic (even though I really like RGB lights for some damn reason).   
I'm not doing art or design so a curved screen won't be a problem for me. I mostly have some Google based web apps and the office suite open so aye. So i'll say it'll be 60-70% work and the rest divided between web browsing and some games. I mean most things will be an upgrade to this panel that i'm using but anything that's comfortable for the eyes for several hours a day and provides a reasonably smooth experience is fine by me, but I mean... accurate colors or just a beautiful punch-y display, is something that i'd like.  


I think the option of the screen using USB-C is very interesting due to me hating cables and liking when it's a bit minimalistic, so if it can charge my laptop while also using the usb-c as the display cable itself i'd be thrilled. I think LG and the Philips both have that, the rest don't.   


Anyone have any experiences with these, positive or negative? Anything else that I need to think about? Haven't actually bought a computer monitor in probably 10 years or more. Or actually ever now when I think about it. Mostly just used laptop screens before.

I'm torn between the Benq EX3501R and the Gigabyte G34WQC.

I'm using a Macbook Pro 2020 connected to an EGPU with a 5700xt.

I do some casual gaming (play the newest shooters single player, some world of warcraft, nothing that needs a 144hz 1ms, althought would be nice to have but not needed).

What I do a lot of is programming and doing visualisations in programs such as Power BI and tableau, and of course. Media consumption (movies etc) is mostly done on my TV, not the computer.

The benq is a bit more expensive, but is it also better in regards to picture quality? What i mostly need is a 3440x1440 (preferably curved) ultrawide. Or is there maybe an even better UW for my usage (such as AOC or the Xiaomi)? Budget isn't that big an issue, but I'd preferably get something cheaper than 800usd (but if there's something that just BLOWS my mind for 1000+ then suggestions are welcome).
