I know you can’t get rid of pores but I’m wondering is there anyway to make them smaller? I use La Roche Posay products. They keep my acne mostly at bay but I feel like my pores are just so large. Part of it is genetic, but just wondering if there’s anything else I can do at home to help. Thanks!

I have a Giro Union MIPS and am happy with it. Really though there are two alternate approaches here, one is to go to a shop try a few on and buy the one that fits best for you. The other is to identify models that might work well and set price alerts to hunt for deals on Amazon.

I’m in the market for a new helmet if anyone has any thoughts on a brand they like, any great deals, and/or general advice about buying a helmet it would be much appreciated.

Helmet Recommendations?

 This helmet fits perfectly everywhere except the ridiculous chin strap! Even on their website, Giro does not differentiate men’s from women’s helmets. This chin strap was way too long (for this 5’4” 130# woman), even with balaclava/neck gator under it. I could push the front brim entirely off my forehead. The clip at the base of the ear is the ONLY place where ANYTHING moves, and that only made a 1/4” difference at best

 I’ve been wearing bike, horse and ski helmets for many, many years and I’ve never seen one where all usual points of adjustment are permanently anchored with cement, stitching etc. Giro really missed the boat on this massive design flaw. I hope people realize that the helmet does not fit safely if it does not STAY PUT over your forehead in a crash. I went with a Smith Mirage MIPS that I tried on in a store (but bought the color I could only find on Amazon)

Are there Fullface helmets where you can take of the chin-part that are affordable?

Fits great, functions well, and audio speakers are easily installed. The only negative I have with this Helmet is I would like more ventilation. Good Helmet.

Good Helmet

First time mtb-er. Am I supposed to get the mtb specific helmet if I am planning to do some trail riding? Any advantages other than having a visor on it?

After lots of research I decided to go with Giro snow goggles and helmets for my family, since the goggles and helmets all work together as an integrated system to minimize gaps and enhance airflow to reduce goggle fogging (Giro calls it "stack venting"). In the good 'ol days, when you went to a ski shop, the store had already done the legwork and would inform you about things like inter-compatibility. These days, it's up to customers to figure that out. I tried several goggles from other manufacturers (Spy, Smith) and none fit the helmet as well as the Giro goggles

To start, I only considered MIPS helmets since non-MIPS helmets are only designed to withstand direct-force hits, whereas MIPS technology helps reduce rotational forces. The adjustable fit works perfectly, and the liner is warm (it's a smooth fleece, not fuzzy) and overall fit is very comfortable. Went with the Large which has enough room for a beanie underneath. The slider that adjusts the top vents opens and closes well

I started skiing when helmets weren't common. Now that I am getting back into it, I definitely wanted to consider my safety. This helmet fit the bill well for me, as it has MIPS and also was able to accommodate my large head size. I have a 24 7/8" head and the XL fit me well, even with my balaclava on, and easily could have gone larger with the size adjustment

I wear matte black in all my helmets, so I liked that it was an option. I wore this helmet in 15 degrees and also 48 degrees and felt comfortable both days with vents closed and open respectively

First ski helmet and it worked well for me

This is my second giro helmet. My first one is a cycling helmet. This fits really well. I have asian head, so it's always been difficult
