Unless you use the "quiet time" feature during bedtime and naps, the doorbell sound and announcement goes through the nest cam IQ's speaker. I own the IQ indoor and as a young parent with multiple kids, it can be tough to remember to turn off this feature. Unfortunately this is the only way to prevent the Nest IQ from acting as a speaker with the doorbell.

While I do appreciate Google’s efforts to make smart home devices more suited to our home, and the local processing is an excellent step forward, I don’t like seeing devices lose functionality. Google still has a lot of work to do with the Nest Cam, and that’s a shame because Nest’s indoor cameras were the industry gold standard.

Bought my first Nest Cam Indoor Gen 2 today and thinking of getting rid of the whole google system. Google have really gone too far and have gone the Apple route of ripping of it's own customers. * Unable to stream cameras to chromecast/Android TV.

If your camera is battery powered, it will only have event video history, even if you have a Nest Aware Plus subscription. 24/7 video history is not available for the Nest Doorbell (battery), even with optional wired installation. So not sure why your Nest Cam Battery is not giving you 24 hours video, but from what I can tell from Googling, PoE isn't strictly-speaking a supported configuration from Google so there may be an issue there. The short conclusion is though - if you want 24 hour recording, get the wired-only devices, not battery (even if you are planning to wire it).

I have turned the daylight sensor to brighter, but its not automatically turning on even when its pitch black. Under "what turns on the floodlight" I trued unchecking motion, live viewing, and camera events, thinking maybe thats what it was defaulting to as the time to turn on the lights, and the light still doesnt turn on when its dark. Am I missing a setting?.
