So that is my review, comparison, whatever you want to call it of the Gossamer Gear Mariposa and the Z-Pax Arc Blast.

Anyway just a great pack and it carries a lot of weight very well.

My partner just switched from the Osprey Atmost AG 65 to the Gossamer Gear Mariposa and really likes it. Make sure you know your torso length and hip belt size when buying a backpack. **Sleeping Bag**: [Hammock Gear](https://hammockgear.com/). **GG Mariposa**: No, not the lightest option out there but it held everything fine without having to smash insulation too much. The elastic on the side pockets iced over and froze, which made it a little tricky to get water bottles out. Otherwise it did great. **CNOC 2L**: A little heavier than the Evernew, but much easier to fill.

I did a lot of research and wound up with a reasonably-priced, reasonably light, very beginner-friendly kit (GG Mariposa, Nemo Hornet). Since then, although I've found it fun to tinker with ounces here and there for the hell of it, I've had no delusions that my performance/experience would be affected by taking a 1.2oz nylofume pack liner bag over a 2oz compactor bag.

I've looked at KS, but the suggested baseweight for those is much lower than I'm at. The Gossamer Gear Mariposa looks promising as it has a removable frame, same with the Granite Gear Crown 2 38L. I'm really hoping that based on everything I've written here you guys are able to give me some very targeted suggestions, please and thank you so much!.
