<p>Drawbacks:</p>

<p>Havalon has a meaninglessly modified proprietary scalpel slot shape, it won&#39;t fit #4 handle blades and the Havalon blades are $40/100 at their cheapest, not $5/100 like standard blades.</p>

<p>The pliers and hex driver are great and standard so far though.</p>

<p>I plan on trying to modify the blade holder to a #4 after I use all the blades it came with.</p>

Looking for specific multitool

 I plan to give it a few weeks, but this knife may find a permanent home in a hunting backpack.

Within a few hours after opening, I had already nicked my finger after brushing up against the guard which didn't adequately cover the recessed/contracted blade. I plan to give it a few weeks, but this knife may find a permanent home in a hunting backpack.

It looks very cool and some people think it has all the tools without any gimmicks, but in my opinion at $75 it"s kind of overpriced considering there's only 8 tools. The Wingman or the Rebar is a better value.

Do you think the Skeletool is overpriced and overrated?

All in all it's a nice tool. Attention to detail is the issue. The knife doesnt have a stopper so when its folded the blade edge rest on the housing. Also the inside knife housing on mine isnt completely painted, it looks like there is some oil substance

 The gut hook is SHARP. The pliers line up perfectly, they get 7/5 on the pliers. The blades lock VERY snugly no complaints there.  I would recommend this

Not perfect, but still very nice.

For current-production tools, the Havalon Evolve uses #60 scalpels including bone saws and gut hooks. The Roxon S802 has replaceable blades (same as S502 folding knife). Leatherman Surge and certain Gerber MP600 models use versions of the Bosch T-shank adapter and can accept tools like wood/metal saws and files.

The pliers on this tool are a bit thicker and more useful, IMO, than those on my leatherman Skeeletool. The screwdriver base is a bit bulky and doesn't allow access to the screw if working in close quarters, as is often he case. If the driver were longer it might work better. The blade is sharp and has its place and usefulness but once again, it is not a substitute for the knife blade on my Skeletool EDC

After using the tool for a month, I've developed dislike for it. I've broken every blade that came with it, the blade will fall off when using, and will open by itself while in your pocket.

Poor Poor Blades!

 It also has an external tool bay (for the gut hook) that will accept almost any Leatherman internal or external tool! I used a 13/64th drill bit to slightly enlarge a pair of Charge/Wave scissors and they fit beautifully! You could easily add any additional Leatherman tool that your heart desires with minimal effort! The same is true of the Havalon Blade, you could very easily replace it with a Leatherman Blade, if scaples aren't up your alley. These simple and easy modifications make the Havalon Evolve nearly as functional as my Leatherman Charge with the EDC characteristics of the Skeletool.

Modified = Perfection!

 Then I tried to use them to pull a staple from a fence post and the spring steel snapped out of place so they won't grasp at all. This sounded like the ONE tool that I have been looking for. It is actually pretty much worthless.

This tool looked like a dream. It turned out to be a complete failure. The guthook is too small and gets plugged up with hair so it doesn't unzip smoothly. The blade breaks easily at the connection, especially if you hit bone
