 They call this I think the butterfly back system so there's two different options on the Mira 2 there's one as I mentioned there's one version without this material and it's just a hard back I kind of like the fact that it's got the material on here it does you know the breathable the breathable sort of material fabric here does provide some additional comfort and you don't feel like you're just sitting against plastic whereas the version without this material on the back you're just sitting right up against plastic and then also this chair just looks really cool too you know I didn't get any frills or different colors with this chair anything it's just your basic you know charcoal black chair but I think it looks quite cool and quite modern you know especially if I have it like it's just like that and I'm not using it you know on my desk it just looks cool when you walk into the room it just kind of looks like a cool modern chair so you know in general I think it is a really good chair especially if you can find a totally like a new one like this you know brand new on the used market. The one thing in terms of all the options that this particular chair is missing is the forward tilt option there is an option where you can get it to where you can actually tilt the seat forward for you know if you like to like lean forward a little bit while you're working temporarily you can you can do that with that option this chair does not have that but I did used to have a chair that had that and I ended up kind of not liking it too much because I ended up using it too much when I shouldn't have been and I kind of didn't know whether to leave it in that position or leave it in the flat position mostly and it just became a little bit of a conundrum with that so I find that if I'm sitting back in this chair and I do want to like stretch my back or lean forward a little bit I can still do that just consciously by leaning forward in the chair and my back wouldn't be contacting you know the back of the chair and then the chair just defaults to having a straight you know tilt. The other thing on the Mira 2 chair is it doesn't have a seat pan adjustment where like some chairs the seat can actually be moved forward and backward but it does have a thing here where you can actually pull up this lever and then move this down you know so depending on you know your legs you can actually move this way down like so it tilts down like if you're a little bit shorter so that's a cool design as well. All in all I'm really happy with this Mira 2 chair I even tried the much more expensive Embodi chair which is I guess their top of the line office chair and I didn't like it as much that one was comfortable but it didn't have as good lumbar support and for me that is extremely important the lumbar support and the lower back support to me is the most important thing in a chair

 Our cost was $959 for our test chair, and here is how we configured it. I'll give you guys a quick run through on Herman Miller's policies when it comes to returns, warranty, shipping, and installation. If you buy the Mirror 2 and you do not like it, you can return it within the first 30 days. Herman Miller will give you a full refund, they'll also cover your return shipping costs

 This is one of the highest scoring chairs that we've had a chance to test in this category with a score of 87 out of 100. It was really only missing one adjustment that we look for on all ergonomic chairs, and that's going to be back height adjustment. Aside from that adjustment, it had the rest. It has seat height adjustment, seat depth adjustment, four-way adjustable arms, adjustable lumbar support, tension adjustment, and three-position tilt lock

 If they just had a wider range and got narrower, these would probably be the number one arms that we've had a chance to test. One of the biggest highlights of the Mira 2 is going to be its ergonomic adjustments. Herman Miller Mirra 2 Ergonomic Chair Review

You guys know a lot about office chairs and I'd love your help finding the best fit for me. I can't test out a bunch of chairs before buying (in Ireland, many high-end chairs aren't sold retail and I'm mostly limited to the secondhand market), so I would love your expertise and recommendations for a smaller person (5'4" and 115 pounds) with some back pain.

Right now I have an Aeron classic (this one: https://usedaeronireland.ie/product/herman-miller-aeron-chair-chrome-carcass-posture-fit/), and I don't like it. I know there's an adjustment period for ergonomic chairs, but I've had it for almost a month and still don't like it. The adjustments seem right, but I can't ever settle in, and the lumbar support seems way too low. I like comfortable chairs, and the Aeron just isn't comfortable for me.

I'm a fidgeter, crossed-leg sitter, occasional knee tucker, etc.—a classic example of the "bisexuals can't sit in chairs" stereotype lol. My posture is getting better, but I need a chair that isn't punishing when I need a bit more flexibility.

I have preexisting lower back pain that the Aeron has not improved and some new upper back pain after using it for a while. 

What are my other options? I'm willing to spend a fair amount for the right chair. Based on what I've read on this sub, I've been considering these:

Haworth Fern (with or without lumbar support? Y'all have really mixed opinions on this) 
Haworth Zody
Steelcase Leap
Steelcase Gesture
Herman Miller Mirra

In your experience, what chairs will likely be a good fit for me? I'm leaning toward the Fern at the moment, but I'm open to any other options that will help my back pain.

Chair recommendations for back pain

I know this Reddit is mainly focused towards office chairs, but I'm looking for either a gaming of office chair that's less than 500$ and can accommodate a taller person, aswell as feature a headrest. I've done a bit of research on ergonomic chairs and it seems like the "best" choices seem to hit around the 1000$ mark, which is money I'm just not willing to spend on a chair.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. 🙏 Willing to go slightly over my budget of 500$ too if the chair's really good.

Chair recommendations for my setup? Around 6"1, 190lbs that won't destroy my wallet.

 The chair folds down. So if you're not six foot four, you've got quite a bit of space there. So that's not right for me. I would just click that and it automatically lifts up, giving me that better support because you're supposed to have a fist size gap between the back of your knees and the chair

 Then where you've got it exactly where you want it, you just tighten those up and you can feel it apply the pressure into your lumbar, therefore supporting you better in the back. And then on this side, you have the tension knob that you just wind clockwise or anti-clockwise and that adjusts the tension on the reclining position. So you can loosen it right off so it just falls back or you can have a bit of pressure there and that is fully adjustable. And then also on this side you have the, there you go, the height adjustment and gas cylinder I believe

 And when I say the mesh back, it's actually quite a solid plastic, but it's moulded in a way that it does give. And you do have the lumbar supports that come with it. So just go over very quickly every bit of adjustment that it will do again. And I think that is the correct seating position

 I have it all the way at the top and then you just click that in and that's solidly in. And then you've got this arm pad that is cushioned and that's very comfortable and that will go forward. I've already got it forward to the full amount or you can push it back, forward, back. It will also go in, which I've got it all the way in, or you can push it out to make more space at your side

Herman Miller Mirra 2 One year on review

Considering pulling the trigger on an Aeron or Aeron remastered. Friends think I’m loony for thinking about spending that kind of money for a chair. Does anyone regret their investment? Some days I’m barely home but on a day off work, I’ll sit at my desk 10+ hours. I see it like buying a nice mattress.

I'm not sure if the topic of ergonomics has been really talked about in this subreddit. But editing for hours on end, or just simply sitting down can take a toll on your back and your overall posture. What's your preferred chair that you sit on during editing? Do you prefer leather? artificial leather? or do you prefer sitting on mesh-type chairs?  Thanks in advance!

Best Chair you sit on for continuous editing?

 What I really love about this chair is the recline mechanism. It mimics the one on the Aran. Well, it's basically the same mechanism I believe. And it's just very fun and easy to rock back and forth

 The question is how much annoying would it be during extended hours. I have no idea yet but if you're skinny like me and if you're not very tall then this might be a problem. The other issue that I'm facing is the lumbar support. Don't get me wrong I really love the lumbar support in this chair

 And this is just enough for me because this way I can move close to my desk. I have support for my shoulders and I can still work with the keyboard. What I really love about this chair is the recline mechanism. It mimics the one on the Aran

 Well, I don't love them like the Aron ones but they're quite good. So people tend to not love the shape of the armrest. But the thing is it actually helps when you're rocking your chair. It doesn't actually touch the table, the desk this way

My issues with Herman Miller Mirra 2 – personal experience

You need a Herman Miller Mirra chair. The back is not mesh, but it’s strong and breathable. 

<div class="md"><p>With Christmas coming up, I&#39;m looking for a good desk chair. I am a chronic leaner and always wear out the back for every chair I&#39;ve ever owned. </p>

<p>I lean back and put way more of my weight than I should on the back until the lock doesn&#39;t work anymore and the back of the chair moves if I put any weight on it at all. </p>

<p>Does anyone have any recommendations for a chair that has a strong back that can take a lot of wear? An absolute tank of a chair if possible. Ideally I&#39;d like a chair around $500 or less with mesh available in NA.</p>
