 The highs are good, but the mids get drowned out and it lacks bass for a small room. It'S fine! But if you plan on using this in a big room or as a home theater, I suggest buying a sound bar to go with it. Heat output was fine and averaged around 32 degrees Celsius. Now I don't have too many TVs to compare it to yet, but generally you want it to be below 40 degrees Celsius for good operation

The Hisense 50H8C is an under-$500 50-inch 4K television that offers excellent color accuracy, but is held back by a sluggish interface.

 This is fairly standard for budget televisions, but Vizio's Du series ($349.99 at Amazon Canada)(Opens in a new window) offers a 0.01cd/m2 black level for a far better 25,787:1 contrast ratio.

Smart TVWhile other budget HDTV manufacturers use Roku TV for their connected television platform, Hisense went with a Linux system using the Opera TV Store for the 50H8C. The app menu looks very similar to Android TV, with apps arranged in two horizontal rows of rectangular icons. A separate Input menu offers access to any video sources hooked up to the television, along with wireless streaming from compatible WiDi and Miracast devices with Anyview Cast. A third menu lets you browse any media available locally over USB or networked

I had the H6 model prior to this H8 and I do not care for the newer version. The H6 remote control was a wireless mouse and I could download apps with ease and control the volume of the sounbar as well as other components like blue ray. I have to hold the remote within 5 feet of the TV or it doesn't work. I wish I never thought this TV would be an upgrade
