Just keep it in a climate controlled place in the winter. My garage isn’t heated so the battery goes in my hall closet over winter. The mower is not great at mulching, so if you’re cutting off a lot, it will clump up on top (I bag or double pass in those situations).

I have managed to get a new mower deck belt put on after pto wouldn't engage the blades and I was able to trouble shoot that, it was a pita and it still seems slightly loose but with the covers on it doesn't slip. I managed to get that fixed but the deck is not level front to back, the front is way higher high up then the rear and dragging in the back, the wheels are at the lowest setting so that could be it but it looks if I raise them the one wheel will hit the chute.

The deck will likely outlast the engine. Another thing to look into is parts availability.
