But I've been using it over the last couple days and I definitely feel better as the temperatures have plummeted here lately

 it's my honey. well a name-brand you trust and it's a little room humidifier. and one of the things that happens when it starts getting cold is the air just doesn't hold as much moisture and so it ends up getting really dry and you might actually be suffering a little bit from it in the cold winter months and you might just need a little humidity. And if you have a house you middle fire, you actually can't run them well, especially when it's really cold at max capacity

Honeywell HUL520B Mistmate Cool Mist Room Humidifier Review

 My bed is next to my dresser, so when the mist falls, I can feel it. Keep in mind this is a cool mist humidifier, so it will feel cool at night (which I like, even in winter). If you're willing to pay extra for distilled water, I think that would be a lot better than tap. I use tap in mine, and clean it with vinegar and bleach per the directions and it works fine

 It is still producing mist, but it is coming out of the bottom of the unit. Whatever propels the mist up through the middle chamber and out of the top of the unit is no longer working (I hope that makes sense). I received this humidifier in the middle of February, so it's worked for a little over 7 months. I've used it every single night since I've received it

 My trick is to place it on a tall dresser so that when the mist falls, it won't soak the floor. Turn it on the highest speed, then dial it back a little. My bed is next to my dresser, so when the mist falls, I can feel it. Keep in mind this is a cool mist humidifier, so it will feel cool at night (which I like, even in winter)

 Not difficult to clean at all compared to other humidifiers I've owned. I would give this five stars if it weren't for the initial loud grinding noise when I turn it on. I do feel like it's cheaply made, and that it may stop working soon. I'm curious to see how long this humidifier will last me, and I'll update later when it quits working altogether

Honeywell Black HUL520B Mistmate Cool Mist Humidifier Review

 It failed to make steam after fiddling with it for about 2 hours upon arrival. I took the top off and pushed on the round recess in the bottom of the tank. It didn't seem to move, but when I put the top back on and turned it on, steam was produced. I've tested it multiple times today and it seems to be working reliably now

Didn't work out of box but worked later

 The one that I bought in the store also has a minor noise for separating the water, this seems to be the technology in this type of humidifier but it is not as startling. I don't see as much mist in the store bought one but I can feel the difference in the room. So If you need the illusion of physically seeing mist perhaps this is for you. I will admit initially I was totally impressed but that is not enough to rock my boat when I don't feel a big difference in my sleep

 This may work but it definitely is for a very small room (i.e. home office). I have only owned 1 humidifier prior and I bought it 8 years ago

 Then I read into the different types of technology for humidifiers and understand how they worked which helped me a lot. I am going to keep the other one primarily because it's quieter than my old one and supposedly this type of technology (ultrasonic) is better than a fan driven one.

For very small rooms like an office

  My issues with the Honeywell are 1) that it's noisier than the Pure Enrichment. The Pure Enrichment is literally whisper quiet, making just a constant gentle whirr. The Honeywell makes the same gentle whirr, but has the added noise of a constant gurgling/dripping sound, that get's more pronounced the higher of you have variable output setting. The louder/gurgly one I'm going to put at my daytime work desk, and move the quieter Pure Enrichment to my nightstand so I can sleep without hearing the random gurgling

I bought two ultrasonic humidifiers, this Honeywell model being reviewed, and the Pure Enrichment Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier, model PEHUMIDIF . I bought two because I wanted one on my nightstand while sleeping and another at my office desk while working all day in an air conditioned dry environment. I couldn't tell from the reviews which I was going to prefer. Now that I've had both, I can say I prefer the other, the Pure Enrichment model (which cost about $15 more than the Honeywell)

A Few Disappointments (Noisy and Wet)

 I’ve never had a humidifier but I don’t think this machine is a “workhorse”.. I would’ve put up with it not turning itself off because it was so nice and quiet but I can’t afford a broken machine.

😢 I was shocked about how often it Has to be cleaned!!& requires 2 step cleaning process😱that’s the biggest turn off!!! In fairness I’ve never had a humidifier so maybe this is routine🤷🏻‍♀️to me it’s A LOT of work😫 , hopefully I found a solution…🙏🏻 I searched Amazon till I found one that had great ratings and said it was easier to clean… I wanted 2 to have two humidifiers but the Honeywell hast to go back🤷🏻‍♀️ If a new one works out it would be worth the money to if it’s easy to clean🤞

I loved my FIRST ever humidifier!! IT was silent and fairly easy to use..👍 Also extremely pleased how mist comes out of machine. I believe it’s supposed to turn itself off , but mine never did🤷🏻‍♀️ I didn’t mine too much

Update: I found a solution to the leaking, I need to make sure both the bottom of the water basin is dry and the base the water basin fits on. I bought this humidifier in Jan 2021 and it was quiet and produced enough humidity for my bedroom and I also would move to my office to use during the day. It made a HUGE difference for me to help with dry eyes and sinus issues. I clean it per manufacturer’s specs, except I changed to distilled water since our water is very hard, so didn’t need to use the vinegar anymore

Produces great humidity but started leaking badly within 2 months of purchase

 There are so many angles and bits and bobs in the tank, it's hard to maneuver to clean properly. It's almost completely impossible to effectively clean the spout where the mist comes out without a massive effort, an especially bendy bottle brush, paper towel, hydrogen peroxide, and tweezers. It was also quiet the first couple times I used it, but now can be heard three rooms away. If I was still in the return period, I would return it

Disappointed

While it put out a lot of vapor, my hygrometer needle barely moved. Granted, I was trying to raise the humidity in a small area of a large room..

I have a humidifier on my furnace which keeps the room at 35% and I wanted to get it up above 40%. No luck! I have it boxed up to take back and have replaced it with a Honeywell warm mist humidifier again with no filter to clean. It's got it up to 38% so a little improvement but not much. At this rate, I can go the whole season without having to clean any of these
