 Sound quality is good, although I had to rotate the 3.5 mm pin a little inside Chromecast audio to get sound out of both left and right channels. As soon as you hold the cable in your hand, you can tell that the quality is first class Chinese junk. This cable will work for years if you put it in a place where you never have to see or touch it again

 I just bought a ground loop isolator so hopefully that will help. I do wish they made versions with 90 degree connections so I can push them closer to the wall and get a little extra desktop space.

So it's a "splitter" or "Y" device; you're splitting one stereo signal into two mono ones

splitter just works like it should, but could be slightly better.

 we did essentially the same thing, except the 3.5mm plug was plugged into the computer's headphone hack. Even if one was not a fan of the movie, at least the sound was thrilling!  My only issue with it (leading to 4/5 instead of 5/5) is that the connection did not snap as solidly as I would expect. (My other equipment snaps into place well, so I conclude it is this item with the problem

Used Successfully to Breakout Stereo Two Ways; just one non-showstopping issue

PROS: It does its job in terms of actually providing sound to whatever it's sent to. In my case, it was going into two DI's, in which went into a snake, and then to a GLD 112 digital sound board.  CONS: It is incredibly finicky and crackles/distorts and the slightest adjustment. That's when it fits

 I used it into my Samsung Tab 3, and tried to fit it to my LG G3, and it wouldn't even fit in.  I'm running this for a moderately sized church, and who ever has my tablet going to their IEMs can hear all of the distortion that comes from this. That isn't nearly as bad as the horrendous sound that comes through the mains. Maybe mine is defective? The amount of great reviews lead me to think so
