 The RAM is not upgradable, so you'll need to choose your RAM selection and stick with it for the life of ownership here. It does though have a replaceable NVMe SSD. This one came with a 1TB SSD, and they also have a replaceable Wi-Fi card on board too if you wanted to update that down the road, but the RAM is not upgradable. Now this is a rather large device because it does have a 16 inch display on board, and again this one has the OLED display which looks beautiful

One of the benefits of OLED is that it has an excellent contrast ratio, so the black levels are very, very black on these displays, and it really stands out versus LED lit displays. Now the OLED is an option, so the lower cost units have a regular LED display, but if you want the best looking thing here, I think the OLED is the way to go

 So overall I found this to be a very elegant laptop for doing creative work. It's not something I'm going to recommend to gamers given some of the performance limitations here but for video editing and photo editing and that sort of thing I think the OLED display here combined with the overall fit and finish make it a decent portable creative workstation and that is going to do it for this look at the HP Spectre X360 16 and until next time this is Lon Seidman, thanks for watching. I know this sub gets completely overloaded this time of year so thank you for taking the time to answer.

So I just bought the Dell XPS 15 7590 with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD with a good deal, but now I'm having second thoughts after seeing the Lenovo Flex 2 in 1 Touch screen laptop.

I got the Dell for $1100 after coupons and everything plus tax, but this Lenovo flex seems to have most of these things at a cheaper base price of $699 (I would get it for $599). Granted I get the 4K OLED screen and the Nvidia GeForce 1650 on the Dell, but the Lenovo is touch screen, has the flex capability, and has the same ram and storage.

I was looking for a laptop with light gaming capacity but is mostly used for video editing and schoolwork.

Anybody have any thoughts? Should I cancel the XPS? I know they are vastly different machines but I thought I could ask people more knowledgeable than I.

The HP Spectre x360 16 is one of the most stylish entries in the increasingly crowded field of not-quite-workstation laptops for creative pros and digital dabblers. (We're wrapping up this review and haven't even mentioned the Apple MacBook Pro 16 and Dell XPS 15 yet.)

The design is slightly tamer than we've seen from previous Spectre laptops, but the x360 16 is still an elegant aluminum slimline with beveled edges (black with silver accents, in this case) and classy diagonal-cut rear corners. It feels solid, with no flex if you grasp the screen corners or mash the keyboard, and only a little wobble if you tap the display in laptop mode. The keyboard integrates a fingerprint reader and special top-row functions including not only brightness and volume, but also keys to mute the microphone and disable the webcam. We also run PCMark 10's Full System Drive test to assess the load time and throughput of a laptop's storage

HP Spectre x360 16 Review

 You know, they still have that kind of like gold accents with either a black or blue chassis depending on which color you prefer. It's still cut in certain aspects like the corners, but instead of being super duper cut, they've kind of rounded out the edges to give it more of a smooth look. It's about 4.4 pounds, so it's not super heavy, but it's light enough that you could literally travel with it and yes, this does pick up fingerprints, I mean it's black, right? Not as bad as the older Razer Blades, but it's still a black laptop

 The only thing that can be swapped out is the MVME SSD if you want something bigger or different down the road. Now this battery is 83 watt hours and I got seven hours and 50 minutes before needing to charge. That's really good considering there's an H series processor inside of here. So all day battery life is on the table

 So, this is the HP Spectre X360. This was announced late fall of last year, but we just caught the review units now and I still think it's worth a look because HP makes some of the nicest looking convertibles on the market. Now the Spectre lineup is a lot more expensive than the Envy lineup. This is their premium convertible brand or their premium lineup of laptops and look, it's a classy looking piece

The 2022 Hp Spectre X360 is now 16-inches instead of 15. It's still one of the best looking Convertibles on the market and the updates to the design and software make it even better. There's tons of 2-in-1s on the market but this is still one of my favourites.  HP Spectre X360 Review 2022.

HP Spectre X360 16" (2022) Review - The Best 2-in-1 Laptop?

Despite a 45-watt CPU and a 3k screen, buyers of the Spectre x360 do not have to sacrifice on long battery runtimes: 10 to 11 hours is possible in practice. Power is provided via HP's proprietary power adapter or a universal USB-C power adapter: The two USB-C slots (Thunderbolt 4) support Power Delivery (and Displayport). Verdict: 2-in-1 notebook with glamour factor

 I mean, you know, it's two kilograms, which is four and a half pounds. So compared to something like the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 2 316, I mentioned that's almost half the weight. It's a carry. It's obviously if you're going to use this as a tablet, you're going to be putting it flat on a table probably or on your legs and your lap or something like that

 This is Lisa from Mobile Tech Review and this is the HP Spectre X360 16-inch. So just like they did well when they made the Spectre 14-inch, they've made the 15-inch model into a 16-inch by giving a slightly larger display with a 16 by 10 aspect ratio that no doubt many of you will like because, well, who doesn't like a little taller aspect ratio these days? We have an Intel 11th gen H35 processor, yes, I know it's still 11th gen, this is the newest that they make. By the way, this model has been on the market for about two months or so, HP was also getting us a review unit to borrow to do this video. But anyway, for H35 processors, there's no 12th gen version of that, so perhaps that's why

 So we have a little bit of a redesign here. Gone is the super angular gem cut that HP was using, but we still have the, shall we say, cut corners. The two back corners are cut off at an angle, but kind of a curvier, smoother, rounded more feel to it, and each of those is, well, they house a port, each of the cutouts, which is pretty interesting. Speaking of ports, it's pretty decent for something that's relatively speaking slim and sort of light, and you've got Thunderbolt 4 ports times two

In a couple weeks Walmart will have a 15.6" HD, 8GB RAM (dual channel), 256GB SSD laptop for $279.00 and a 15.6" FHD, 8GB RAM (dual channel), 256GB SSD for $379.00. I was just wondering what you're experience is with Linux on cheap HP laptops like these.

Best Buy recently had a laptop similar to the $379.00 one I just listed, but it was $399.00. I searched the reviews and only found one mentioning Linux, and it said it didn't run well out of the box.

Of course, I can just return it if it doesn't end up working well, but was wondering if anyone could share their experience.

Or should I be looking out for Dell deals?

How well does Linux run on cheap HP laptops? Walmart has some good deals coming up

 It could just be that a lot of PC companies are just shying away from having heavy machines on the market, especially heavy machines that you're going to be twisting and turning in several directions. The X360 16 weighs 4.4 pounds, which is a lot more than the 3 pound 14 inch version of this laptop. It's not too far off from the 4

 I found it really capable for playing 1080p games as well, so something like Halo Infinite or Boomerang X performed really smoothly, and that's a nice thing to have, especially in a productivity laptop. I'd say the X360 is a good option if you just want to play some games once in a while, maybe on a work trip where you don't want to lug over a gaming laptop too. Big screens come with huge energy demands, so I wasn't too surprised when the X360 only lasted 10 hours and 55 minutes during our battery test. HP claims it'll go up to 17 hours with mixed use performance, but it's unclear how they tested that

4 pounds, which is a lot more than the 3 pound 14 inch version of this laptop. It's not too far off from the 4.3 pound MacBook Pro 16, and honestly, I figure if you want a big laptop, you assume it's going to be a little heavier than some of the ultra portables out there. And at the very least, it's not as heavy as Dell's XPS 17, which can go all the way up to 5

 There's a little bit of metal in there. Just the overall look of it really screams style, it screams, you know, pay attention to me, compared to what Dell's doing, which just tends to be a lot more laid back. And to be honest, HP is really scaling back the sort of bejeweled look it was going for before with the Spectre X360 line. It's a lot more understated now

The x360 16 has everything we’d want in a big-screen convertible notebook. Just don’t give up on the dream of using it as a tablet, though.
