 It's got an extremely long name, but it's a beast of a subwoofer. We're going to start with the unboxing here, and then we'll get into the setup process. So we have the important unpacking instructions, best done with two people. Okay, oh, be careful, watch your, watch your toe

 That's why I went with the shoe research. And yeah, the performance on this thing is is like, if you guys are upgrading from something smaller, and you want to know what to expect, like the, the deep, the deepness that this thing gives in the power is just it's literally ridiculous. Like I have this thing I haven't even reached, you know, half of this thing's potential. So when I get a bigger home theater room someday, when I upgrade to like a giant projector, I feel like this this thing is going to come with me, I'll probably pick up a second one

 It says 0.7 is best for large rooms. I'm using this in a small room, but I found the bass just felt more impactful. And then the lower frequencies were more represented on that setting

 I highly recommend it the the deep low bass extension, especially because this, this subwoofer is so versatile, you can, you know, you can run it sealed, you can run both ports open, you can do it with the extended mode, which is what I have it on. The bass is extremely powerful. I found I found it was, you know, the bass is definitely tight, all those gunshots, all the quick punches and action movies, like they hit you and they hit you hard. And they, you know, it doesn't sound muddy or anything

Still working on getting them dialed-in, but so far they are absolutely phenomenal.

 For anyone followng you simply can't do better <$2000(duals) than the vtf-3. How Hsu is maintaining their pricing with the way logistics from china have increased is extraordinary.

Subwoofer upgrade day: Klipsch R-12SWi --&gt; Dual Hsu VTF-3 MK5

  Sound: This thing pounds! Its too much for my little room at the moment, but that's ok you can always turn it down. I have the gain set less than halfway. I will say that it can be a little boomy but that could be my position in the room or because my room is too small. But this subwoofer can produce nice clean low bass the kind of bass that makes the walls shake and your seat vibrate

 This sub is made for the most output as possible for the money. I am using this for a home theater and it is wonderful.  Look: It is kind of an eye sore with the legs the way they are, but again who cares I want bass its not a fashion statement.  Setup: No problems

 Gain set at less than halfway. Crossover set at highest point as I use my receiver to control X-over point.  Overall outstanding subwoofer, I will soon be moving and I will have my own dedicated theater room which is at least twice the size of my room now. Later down the road I plan on purchasing another one(even though I probably wont need it lol) of these to add to my system to close out any potential dead spots and add to the mayhem

Subwoofer performance scales with size, you need a large cabinet in conjunction with a low tuning frequency to achieve good bass extension. Sure, you can apply DSP and make any subwoofer flat to 20Hz. But then you run out of headroom fast, I would bet my last dollar that the OSD sub starts hitting compression 5dB earlier than something like the HSU VTF-3 MK5, which is the same price.

I'm ready to buy a new subwoofer for my large family room. I'm looking for the best performing sub I can get, that digs down below 20Hz, for under $1000. Priority is music of all kinds, including hip-hop and electronic, but the sub will serve theater purposes as well. I over analyzed all the specs and reviews I could, and landed on either the HSU ULS-15 Mk2 or the SVS PB-2000 Pro.

OSD Black Trevoce 15EQ DSP Subwoofer

So I did a thing. Upgraded from the Elite SW-E10 to the SVS PB-1000 after my previous post lol

In my new house, the room I'm using for the theater room is 16 X 18 (not a true theater room, has a couple small windows and is untreated). Current setup is Klipsch rf82ii fronts, RC62ii Center, RS-35 rears. I am using my old Klipsch12HG (synergy line) as the subwoofer currently, but would like to move it to the living room system (all synergy stuff) and replace it. I know Klipsch subs are nothing special at their price point, so I wanted to see what other people have/ would recommend for my space/setup. Don't want to break the bank if possible, but I also don't want price to deter suggestions. I know some of the big names are SVS, HSG, ect. but dont have much experience with them. Thanks in advance

I have been reading quite a few opinions about subs over the past months, especially that cheaper models like the 1000 Series from SVS are much better than other ones from mainly speaker manufacturers.

Do people here  have actual first hand experience if that is true? Especially in cases where the sub is used in an Apartment, without the need to have wall shaking bass for movies.

Is the cost of those more Premium subs really worth it in such cases?
