Ibanez EHB1005MS

This particular bass was very hard to pass up because of the deal that I got at C&M Music Lafayette.

I have 2 ehb1005ms, but since you specifically asked for cons, I’ll be nit picky. Ymmv, but I have no use for the stock bartolini pickups. Both mine have nordstrand now, obviously not an issue for the 1500 series. The stack knobs kind of suck, this is a problem with all stack knobs but the slightest bend or misalignment makes turning both knobs impossible.

Hi guys, I’m a long time bassist, but new to the idea of changing pick ups. I’m looking at getting an Ibanez EHB1005MS soon. I’ve been doing plenty of research on the guitar and it seems to be just what I’m looking for.

You can usually fix that with me hanging the button strap location, but if you don’t feel comfortable taking a drill to your new bass, you’ll have to contend with that. Many people attribute the neck dove to arm and hand fatigue, but others find they don’t run into that issue. If you couldn’t tell, I’m a Jazz Bass man, it just fits and feels great. But I also play an Ibanez EHB1005MS, so there’s nothing to be said about having both at some point.

I like it, but I think it's time that I invest in something better. I was looking for a bass that I would be satisfied with for a very long time and eventually settled on the Ibanez EHB1005MS. The problem is the price.

Ibanez are basically always worth it, they make some of the best bang-for-your-buck stuff around. Typically, the necks are crazy easy to play, and on their newer stuff the EQ/electronics on the mid-range stuff can get you a wide range of sounds. I've also found they tend to be very well-balanced, with basically no neck dive. I own an EHB1005MS (one of their new headless, multi-scale models) and an old (mid-2000's?)
