I've never played in bass in my life and finally decided to get a setup and start my adventure with it.

My budged is quite low and decided to start with just the amp and guitar and here is my question.

Ibanez sr300eb is stuck in my head, I'm going to get it but question is, would I be able to upgrade it in the future to a decent mid range or so?

Second of all which amp would you recommend to keep it for longer?

I'm planning to spend decent amount of money on the amp so I can keep it for longer even if I would change my bass, second of all should I get pedals with it straight away or should I leave them for a month or two to learn how to config everything?

Any info any tips they are all welcome

Absolute newbie needs some help

 However, I've been far less successful getting it to sound good on direct-in recording with a modeler.  I wanted this bass to replace my Fender P-Bass but unfortunately it cannot pull studio duty so it will only replace my P-Bass for live playing.

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a great day. I'm a guitarist who's thinking about getting a bass mostly for completionism, fun and recording purposes. I've played a few bass guitars over the years and Ibanez ones have always felt the best to my ears and hands. Thing is, I don't really understand the difference between SR300E basses, SR370E ones, SR500Es, SR600Es and so on. I don't have a particularly tight budget (I'd simply like to get the best bang-for-my-buck bass), and I'm here wondering - what's the difference between the models I listed above? Not that I don't care about aesthetics, but at which point do I start paying for a prettier finish instead of better pickups, electronics and whatnot? The gap between SR500E &amp; SR600E seems especially uncanny to me. I'd really appreciate if anyone could clear this up.

Sidenote: for the time being, I'm not looking anywhere beyond the "standard" series. I can't justify spending $1,000+ for a Prestige/Premium/Iron Label tier instrument yet. Feel free to recommend other similar basses as well (I also like the Yamaha ones quite a bit; not a huge fan of Fender models), just know that I'd prefer a 4-stringed instrument with active pickups.

I'm currently looking for a new bass as I already own a Hofner Ignition B-bass but can't play it anymore because it's a few hundred km from me right now.

I was looking interested in the Marcus Miller V3 or the Sterling SUB Stringray 4 as I want to spend 300-400€ on it, and I was actually gonna go for the MM V3, but I saw that she's actually quite heavy, something that won't do for me since I have back issues.

Have you any suggestions for a lightweight bass? (that isn't a Hofner B-bass) I was thinking maybe Ibanez or Epiphone if anyone owns one of these guitars.

I precise that I can only buy online since I don't have a music shop near me, that's why I need some advice in this area.

I've only dabbled in playing bass (currently play guitar) and I want to know how good it gets in this low price range. I wouldn't be using it very often, hence the low budget. I'm totally ok buying used.
