I’ve got an SR500 that is just wicked fast and comfortable. It’s like playing a feather compared to my squire jazz.

I recently got a second bass, and I noticed that with two basses it's easier to pick out their unique characteristics. I found I love both of them, but in different ways.

I have Ibanez SR500e and it does me pretty well but I really want the sound of the Nordstrom big single pickups that come on the prestige version of this bass. The only other part of the prestige version I think would be noticeable is that   the neck has titanium rods to stiffen it up when using different tunings (ibanez has super thin and flexible neck and I change tunings a lot).

Yes, my fretting hand technique is solid. Yes, I keep my wrist in neutral positions. Yes, I only apply as much pressure as needed for the note to sound.

Suggestions for basses and strings would be great! Price range $500 to $1,200. Thanks!

I need a bass with very easy to press down strings as I have a history of carpel tunnel and tendinitis. Suggestions?

the main reason to get a SR500 is I believe those are the cheapest Ibanez that have those sweet bartolini pickups. I have a 500 and it's great, I think if you get a used one in good condition and give it a proper setup it will make you very happy

Ibanez SR305 vs SR505: worth the extra$?

It is however much quieter then my previous bass, which was an Ibanez SR500E. It has the Bartolini passive pickups and and active EQ, (no preamp according to the webpage).

 My current bass I play the most is an Ibanez sr500 and there's nothing I would change to make it better for the price. It was like 500 bucks when I bought it.

I don't know much about basses, but based on a bit of research I think **I want a Jazz bass, and preferably a 5 string** (if you don't think I should start with a 5, let me know). Recommendations for bass amps are also very welcome. I'm trying to keep on the cheap side for now, so probably a budget of like **$500-ish,** including the amp. Thanks for the help! (Also, I'm willing to buy secondhand, so if there are any basses that are a bit out of my budget that you think I could find on eBay/Reverb, I'm open to that too.)

I am curious about this. Of course there are guys (looks like mainly metal guys) that enforce Ibanez. Gerald veasley and adam nitti seem to be some of exceptions in the jazz fusion world. I own an Ibanez sr1000e and like it. I modded it but it plays and sounds great. Ibanez seems to hover in beginner / hobby players realm. Anyone have any theories ? Thanks
