IKEA Havsta

My Havsta cabinets are possibly the nicest Ikea items I own. I have a bookcase and a combo top and bottom cabinet. Havsta is solid pine and I'd say it's much sturdier than most Ikea cabinets. High quality, always gets comments from my friends, and I like the gray paint.

After almost 8 months of back and forth, IKEA’s customer service and corporate office has been of no help and I still have the cracked Havsta units. If you look at my profile, I had started a Reddit thread with pictures of the cracking, and asking for help/ideas a few months back. Bottom line: spend a bit more money for something else. Havsta and IKEA’s customer service are not worth the headache.

The Havsta shelving without doors has no backing which drives me crazy. Also if I did 3 or 4 of the Havsta cabinets side by side could I add a butcher block top that goes across all the cabinets or can I not build them without the top like that. I would love to put one top across all the bases then put tall but deep shelves with backs over them.
