I just moved into a new place and currently with out a sofa. I don’t have $1500 + to spend on a sofa, so Ikea seems to be the route we are going. My place is not too small but a sectional will not comfortably fit, so just looking for a standard sofa/loveseat. I was looking into reviews of the Uppland, Harlanda, Finnala, and Kivik, and honestly the reviews are so mixed I just can’t decide. Does anyone have any experience with any or all of these? My main concern is comfort and durability. I have 2 cats, so I’d need to be able to wash the covers or use a wet vac once in a while, though i don’t think that’s an issue with Ikea sofas ?? Thanks for any help!

Sofa Recommendations?

Just redid our basement and thinking about moving our two-section Vallentuna sleeper there from the office. For it to really work, we'd need at least one more section (ideally storage, but will settle for anything now, now that they're out of production) and two backrests. I'm interested in other bits, too, but those are the main components for it to really function like a proper couch down there.

I know this is a long shot, but perhaps someone else is amidst a reno and thinking of parting with theirs? Or you're just tired of them and want a refresh? Or, best, you really want some karma by offering them up to the universe. We would probably consider buying them at retail price, depending on condition,  in recognition of your labor and that we were looking to spend that much anyway.

Maybe the magic of Reddit can help us find another way? I've got Craigslist alerts turned on in some of the major cities, and no luck on eBay... Any other ideas? Thanks in advance!!

Won't you be my Vallentuna (source)

I’m thinking about getting the Vallentuna but everybody is saying that it is not comfortable (I don’t need a bed unit and I don’t need storage unit) it should only be soft underneath (health problems when sitting) and look aesthetic. Grönlid was soft but looked horrible and cheaper than it is instore. Vallentuna wasnt instore and vimle looked okay but i found it very uncomfortable tbh. I was thinking about getting the VALLENTUNA,  FAMMARP or the VIMLE, what would you say?
