This is a clear indication that there was bottleneck on the CPU side. With this new 10700k, My PC now has no problems reaching and maintaining that sweet consistent 144+ FPS on light competitive eSport titles and 100+FPS on demanding CPU intensive AAA titles

 That is a huge difference compared to my old i5 6600k that spiked to over 80c at times! My brother who bought a 9900k last year was also amazed by how much cooler 10th gen runs and even said that he wished he waited a bit longer before upgrading. Note that both the 9900k and 6600k have lower TDPs than the 10700k yet still run warmer. The reason as to why 10th gen runs cooler is because intel made modifications to the IHS of the cpu and upgraded their Thermal Interface Material. Other then the improvement in the temperature department, I’ve also noticed a big difference in gaming performance

Don’t let the 125w TDP fool ya because this chip runs WAY cooler than previous gens. Tested temps using OCCT stress test for about 3 hours, alongside my Noctua NH-D15 cooler. The highest I’ve seen the temp spike up to was 71c. Note that OCCT is a heavy synthetic test that pushes the CPU to the limit

 I Really think this is a similar case to what we saw with the core I 9/10 900k the 10 700 K It simply struggles to match the value of the competing rise in parts, and although it does provide slightly higher frame rates in games, we're generally only talking about single digit gains. While the deficit in productivity applications is often far more significant, the way I'm looking at this, the 10 700 K is either on par with the 3700 X 4 a massive 40 percent price premium, or much slower than the 3100 X for the same price. Man, either option sees Intel come out while behind and I just don't think the often slightly better gaming performance can get them out of that one. That said, the 10 700 K certainly makes more sense than the 10 900k as it offers the same level of gaming performance for round $100 Us

 So while the Core I7 10 700 K is certainly a good deal compared to the outgoing Quran I 1900 K the Core I5 10 600 K should offer the same gaming experience or at least a very similar gaming experience and a much cheaper price point. And of course, if you're after the most bang for your buck a $400 price point, then there's simply no going past the rise in 939 hundred x. Look, how do you tell me now to offer the 10 700 K at a more reasonable price $300 U.s

 Let's say that it's certainly something I could have recommend it as a rise in 730 700 X alternative, but $400 or more? it's a pass for me. just too expensive and not worth the premium. Basically what I found with the 10 900 K and again, availability looks to be the key issue here. and while I was able to purchase a Core I7 10 700 cage ship on release day, getting my hands on this guy here or at least this is the box that ship still on the test system

 Basically, what we have here is a core I $9.99 Ok, at a 25% discount as in tell us, set the MSRP at 374 dollars u.s. though that's the trade price for a thousand units, so it will cost a bit more than that at retail and it has gone up for pre-order at four hundred and ten dollars and of course it's already out of stock

While a good idea anyway, with many processors now utilizing stock overclocks, you can benefit a performance boost by choosing a better CPU cooler. I went the cheap route, actually, I thought it was middle of the road since the Thermaltake Contac Silent 12 is rated for 150w. I thought I could get away with a $30 cooler since I am not planning on overclocking. That cooler could not even keep up with stock CPU settings

 In benchmarks the CPU hit 80-Celsius in seconds and gradually up to 90 where I had it set to throttle. In more practical testing, under basic workloads the temps are more reasonable but the Contac Silent 12 has to ramp up to %100 fan speed frequently to keep that way and it is not quiet at that speed. I know somebody is going to say that's because the default settings on the motherboard are overclocking the CPU beyond Intel's recommended settings. Well, that was one of the first things I checked and that's not the case here

Invest in a good cooler.

 Now the Dram I'm using is a 32 gigabyte uh, 8x4 kit from Kingston Hyperx Predator. Um, so it should run fine and the Xmp profile is already set at 3200 megahertz, but I can actually configure it to run at 3600 megahertz and it's you know, it still should run fine with the Cpu. So here's my overall setup: [Music] Okay, so let's run a few tests on this rig and see how it performs on some of the latest games that I have with me. So let's go check it out

 The Core I7 10700 K is well equipped to keep up with the competition. This test build itself can support the latest games and can run even the most demanding triple A games with ease, especially when running most games at 1080p, which is still the sweet spot as of now. You know it will still be a very, very enjoyable experience. And take note: I haven't even tried overclocking this thing, so now the question is, how long will this power last for future games? Now this one is a harder question to answer because even though my head is shaped like crystal ball, I'm not a fortune teller, But generally speaking, Cpus have much longer life spans compared to Gpus and have a much lower load when playing Aaa games depending on the title

 Haven't gone above 60c in full load yet.  8 MONTH UPDATE:  Still going strong! Was able to snag a 3080 from MicroCenter in September, so my build is now complete, and the 3080/10700k combo is beasting through anything I put in front of it. Yes, my M1 MBP is a massive pain to use - it just won‘t wake my Philips 279P1 Monitor via USB-C. I know it’s a common issue ever since, but is there any solution yet?

- I‘m on the latest beta - no update has fixed that behavior yet
- a clean reinstall of MacOS didn’t fix it
- a forced NVRAM reset via Terminal hasn’t fixed it
- 3 different cables haven’t fixed it
- my cheap Windows work notebook does wake my monitor without any problems
- sometimes my MBP recognized the monitor, sometimes it doesn’t 
- Current solution: manually turn my monitor off and on again. And AFTER this, I need to plug in my MBP. When it’s plugged in before turning on the monitor, it doesn’t get recognized.

Is it really too much to ask for a wake up of my monitor when plugging the USB-C cable into my MBP?! 

I could smash that thing on the damn floor, it’s getting more annoying day for day.
