I purchased this iOttie iTap Dashboard Mount and have had a couple of days to test this in the real world. After following the directions correctly for placement of the metal plate (lower half of phone to not interfere with wireless charging), dash pad, and mount, my iPhone XR is held steady in place. If there are bumps on the road, the mount and its magnets holds the phone well. I can say this if it were in portrait mode

Overall, the quality and value of the mount is good. I do not doubt the strength of the magnets or the reliability of the mount itself. It is just too bad that if you have a phone that uses wireless charging and you have to place the metal plate lower on the phone, the positioning of the phone on this magnetic mount won't hold steady in landscape mode.

I chose this magnetic mount because it was marketed as being able to work with a phone that wirelessly charges. The graphics clearly show that you can use the smaller pad lower on the phone to mount without getting in the way of any wireless charging capabilities. However, the magnets in this won't hold the phone vertically or horizontally if you mount that plate off-center. In normal highway driving, I find myself constantly having to rotate the phone back straight

Super simple to install in car, issues began when I realized you have to put the included steel plates against your phone and under your case. 3-stars because this setup is only for a single phone — so not helpful for a shared car — and it cannot work with case that has a card-holder. It just fits on an recent-model phone with large camera lenses.
