 They have a multi groove ratcheting system which it allows real precise specific positioning and it feels really good and tight in there too. Another thing to note is on the pliers with the teeth. with the exception of the smooth jaw pliers, they have a right angle tooth design which is real good in all directions for bite. So here we have another piece of pipe and we'll go with the V locks and as you can see, just ratchet right in the place and right there

 you don't want to damage the surface. These come in really handy and then the GV ten. Ours are these straight jaw pliers. So and they all include the great lifetime warranty

IRWIN GrooveLock Pliers - Review

These channel locks are very cool. They stay locked, never slip out. They are easy to adjust and the teeth are angled perfectly for precise gripping. BUT

.. after using these channel locks for a month, the glue came loose and both the grips slid off. The part I was holding almost landed on my foot

I have totally converted from Channel Lock to Irwin for my adjustable pliers. One of the convenient features of the Erwin is that you can collapse the jaws without depressing the locking button. I work as a professional home maintenance person. I must have eight of these pliers so that at least one is at my fingertips wherever I am working

 If you can dream it, you can do it. You wouldn't want to use these on nice finishes for fear of marring them, but if you're buying good tools I would hope you already know not to do these types of things . . 

IRWIN QUALITY MAKES ME SMILE

  Handles made of sturdy thick rubber compound and are a dream to hold, very comfortable. These are definitely a great addition to any man's or women's tool box and will be used very often. Better than both basic pliers and regular channel locks.

Better than channel locks and regular pliers by a long shot!

 The handle grips provide enough cushion so it comfortable for your one hand to hold it in place. These were recommended by wirecutter as part of the ultimate tool box and I agree. Definitely will recommend.
