Unfortunately, this alarm requires quite a bit of fiddling to get it all set up with your preferences.  So I really like this lamp. Um, if you guys or sorry, I really like this alarm clock, so if you guys want to try it out now, you know more about it. This specific alarm clock is jawbrand J-a-l-l from Amazon.com I'll link it in the description box

 Green and it also has a blue light [Music] Yeah so that's pretty cool. Um you can also just use it as a radio if you want to and you can also use it as white noise at night and it sets the timer to like 30 minutes. I'm sure there's a way you can change that so that's pretty cool. It's multifunctional

 So this shows 30 minutes. so say you set your alarm for like 5, 30 then 30 minutes before it will start having the light go off and it will get brighter and brighter as you get closer to your time for your alarm. and you can set different times on there like 30 minutes, 20 minutes or 10 minutes. You can also just use this as like a lamp on your nightstand if you want so it has different lights that you can pick at different intensities

  There might be some trial and error in terms of how long the sunrise should be and how bright to work best for you. I face the light away from me so that on max brightness I’m not getting blasted in the face, and rather my faux silk dark curtains get illuminated and reflect the nice warm glow.  I was really excited about the sunset mode, something I’d never considered using, but would solve my problem of trying to get ready for bed in dim lights and slowly wind down, having a chance to go to bed with some light on without having to get up to turn it off later. Perfect idea…  But AGAIN it’s ruined because I have to listen to obnoxious crickets (only one I could stand) that are still fairly loud instead of, idk, silence??? Or my own actual music???  I won’t use the alarm this way but I believe the same problem exists for those that want alarm sounds but no light, it’s not possible to turn the light all the way off in the alarm mode either

  EXPERIENCE: The first day I did a 20-min sunrise to medium brightness, set to the actual time I wanted to wake up, but when you hit snooze (the easiest button to find) it turns off both the light and the mandatory music (I chose bird sounds as they were least annoying).  But the problem with turning the light off to snooze is you are defeating the entire purpose of having a sunlight alarm???? If it goes back to pitch black I’m gonna fall back into a deep sleep.  First of all, I don’t want to have to use this clock’s music at all, but now that I’m forced to, if I want to snooze the music I lose out on the only reason I bought it: to have soft light on in the morning to keep me from falling back asleep.  The workaround: You can hit the alarm button to turn it off, then manually turn the light back on

Almost perfect but has dealbreakers

 30 minutes for it to go from low to bright. Now we've got the different colors going. It cycles through seven different colors I'm not sure how well you can see them here. Went from green to blue and we're changing again

 It's difficult to see on a phone. There we go to pink so you can cycle through the different colors. When you have the sunrise set, it takes about 30 minutes to go from dim to bright. Let's see, then we're off again

 There we go. Okay, so how'd you see it can scan and actually when it does get a decent channel, when this antenna is up somewhere, it sounds pretty good. Now let's go for the light. There we go

Waking with a light is somewhat pleasant, much better than the jolt an alarm provides. Then again, enough smartphone alarm apps exist that can play familiar music with a gradually increasing alarm that this is not unique here, it's not competing solely with the old-school clock radio from the '70s.  The Odds: - I don't use any of the sound components for waking up, only the light. I believe the time you set for the alarm begins the audio, the light triggers at a user-defined interval prior, up to an hour

Sort-of-Works, Sort-of-Doesn't

 Here are my thoughts. (Short story: The basics work and I’m sleeping better)  PROS: The light can be dim enough to use as a night light, but it can get bright enough to see what is going on in the room (I couldn’t read a book with the light, but I’m 50 and my eyes don’t see like they used to.)  I really like the Go to Sleep mode. It basically is the opposite of the wake light

..but if you aren't sensitive to mild light changes while sleeping, this one might still be fine for you. While much better in multiple ways than the previous CATBIK chinese knockoff I tried previously, this STILL doesn't actually simulate a sunrise

I've now ordered the way-too-expensive Philips version, as that one is guaranteed to simulate a real sunrise and start completely dim.

So close, but still not exactly what I needed.

It's effective and inexpensive

This is a very unique style of Clock, and it’s great to wake up to. My only regret is that I wish you had more control over the wake up noises. It gives you lots of options, but they repeat very quickly, and it’s not quite as peaceful a waking up process as you would think because of the quick repetition. Overall great product
