 They got like almost this compression molded jersey material on the side, this faux leather up here and this rubber Duraguard they have going around the toe cap. One thing I'm noticing is there's nothing really stitched. So a lot of these upper materials aren't really enhancing the stability of the shoe. They're almost just weighing it down

 I mean, they are just so comfortable right off the jump on these shoes. You really can feel that midsole compressing around you. And that arch support, which is in the shank, really is pretty malleable. So your arch never feels like it's getting too strained or it's getting too much of a platform

 Now, as I can see this shank, as I bend it, it does bend pretty good now this shoe is cut in half. So when you are in this shoe and it's actually connected, that shank is gonna be pretty pliable. I think that's one reason why you didn't see a ton of height in the serve testing that shank just moves around a lot, but a ton of comfort. This shoe just reminds me of just kind of a better engineered vapor cage for

 So a lot of these upper materials aren't really enhancing the stability of the shoe. They're almost just weighing it down. So actually K-Swiss could have saved some weight on these. I do notice they have some Outrigger shoelaces which aren't my favorite

 Seems a bit too short as well. I won’t go a half size up since these are tennis shoes and I’m concerned a larger size will be too big for my athletics. What a shame, they are an awesome style.

 It's what happens when you get old. Yeah, so I think the next most important thing is stability, and what was that for you? Yeah, stability, good. I kind of touched on that. Stability, felt like I knew what I was gonna get when I was going out wide

 Unfortunately, these fit a little bit shorter, so the nine-and-a-half wasn't quite right. They were too wide all throughout, so I really had to tighten them up. Probably an extra pair of socks would have been good for me, but I think that feels weird, so I didn't do it. So let's move on to cushioning now

 So not the most comfortable on the upper, but around the base of the foot, I thought it was pretty comfortable. Yeah, so for me, they're definitely too wide. I think I got the wrong size. I usually wear a nine-and-a-half in Nikes like Vapors and Zoom Turbo GP, and I've been wearing that size for ages

 I do love how it looks. All the white, the white shoe, paired up with some white socks, have to go high socks in these. If you wear these without high socks, you're just tripping. You shouldn't play tennis without high socks

Save your money and avoid the blisters.  Get the K-Swiss Express Light.

 Here we go. Now the uppers of the Ultra Shot 2 are actually pretty interesting. They're more of a maximalist type upper all the way from the forefoot into the mid foot and rear foot. However the ankle collar is actually pretty floppy so you're going to want to make sure you use the back eyelet or use the cat's cradle lacing technique to really take advantage of all that stability

And speaking of tying down the laces one thing K-Swiss did that I absolutely love is add bubble laces to the very distal tip of the shoe laces. It actually doesn't run all the way through the shoe but in the very tip where you actually tie the lace it's a bubble lace so you do get an ultra secure tie down even if you're not double knotting

 However when I was able to do an infrared test on these with an encore temperature indoors of only 68.9 degrees these shoes still heated up to 92.2 degrees after only 45 minutes of play. So you are going to make some sacrifices in terms of heat for all that stability and comfort

 When I split step I get a great stable push off to one side or the other. So even on difficult first serves I really feel like I can get my foot in position to react really quickly. And number two is moving backwards hitting more defensive shots. I really felt like when I was hitting off my back foot I actually felt like I had stabilizer legs almost like on a tractor

 And he brought me some new shoes, new colors to take a look at for fall of 2021. Stay tuned. All right. So guys, I got Coach Marty Hines here with me, and we got the new colors of the K-Swiss Ultra Shot 3s that are coming out for fall 2021

 Would you agree with that? I would agree 100%. No, torsion rigidity helps the stability of the shoe, but the comfort is another issue that we always pay attention to. Right. We have the ultra shot in the new colors coming out in July and August, 2021

 We use trade names like drag guard up on the toe for wear capability, and comfort is our name using moccasin or slip lasts, but we also give it a little torsion rigidity on the sole by putting in a stiff midsole piece to help with the torsion rigidity for function and durability. You know, that sole plate, look at that, I call it a sole plate, but look, it allows you to go, but not too much. So for those of you guys who slide and go sideways, you're not going to twist an ankle because it won't let you that easily. You would have to do something super reckless to basically jack up your knee or jack up your ankle with this shoe, because it's rigid yet soft

 Great support, wider tie box. Ordered my standard size 8 but decided to exchange for an 8.5. They fit perfectly now!

 The fit is going to be really similar to the Ultra Shot 2 and 1, but like Jay mentioned, it is a more well cushioned mid-foot sole underneath there. Overall, stability of the shoe, durability, I felt very confident like Sage mentioned as well in any kind of split-second decision or directional change on the court. I was the lucky one to get two pairs of these, so this is probably one of the longer play tests that I've had, and I've had at least 40 hours of hard court play on both of these shoes. I've still got some wear left in them

 I never overheated, but I did dampen the shoes after a long session. The 3, here we go, it's definitely more well cushioned underfoot. The fit is going to be really similar to the Ultra Shot 2 and 1, but like Jay mentioned, it is a more well cushioned mid-foot sole underneath there. Overall, stability of the shoe, durability, I felt very confident like Sage mentioned as well in any kind of split-second decision or directional change on the court

 And right from the bat it's a very comfortable shoe, I loved the plush cushioning, I felt very cushioned, no aches or pains or anything when I was even in long hitting sessions in this shoe. It broke in super quickly too within the first hour of hitting, the shoe felt like it was flexing and moving with my foot really well, so I enjoyed that portion of it. I did manage to get some slide on this one, I'm not a big hardcore slider but I do slide out of shots occasionally, and in this shoe I thought I had a nice controlled slide out of some really aggressive lateral plants, and I most importantly felt in control of that slide. And then there was enough traction too to help me sprint to the next ball, but it really does have that give that you need when you want to pivot and make those fine adjustment steps
