But, all is not lost. If Ka-Bar would increase the blade thickness to 6mm, properly center the handle and blade, and move the serrated edge to the belly of the knife, and reduce the size of the serrated edge from 5", to 2.5", they would have a winner.

Out of proportion

 It's not great, but it's still a very decent sheath.  Overall this is still an excellent blade for the money, and I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Ka-bar knives like myself. This fits well into my collection.

 However, for me, there is room for improvement with this particular blade. It is the same thickness (0.165) as Ka-Bars other full sized combat knives, however I felt, due to the larger size of the blade that they should've made it a little thicker.  This goes as well for the tang and handle

 I believe the handle should have been made a little bigger along with the tang to account for the larger blade and heavier weight. Also I am not a fan of serrated blades and would've liked to see this knife available in a plain blade configuration in addition to the serrated version. Additionally, with the serrations running along most of the length of the spine, it means the spine of the blade had been ground down thinner than the rest of blade. To me this seems like it would detract from the blades overall strength

 2 hours later and 1 cup of olive oil I have the sheath stretched out to where it will accept the knife easily. The sheath is made in Mexico.

Solid in the hand, good weight and heft. The fit and finish are the same excellent quality you'd expect from Ka-Bar, if you're familiar with the brand. It wasn't extremely sharp out of the package, but a few pulls with a ceramic rod brought it to a serviceable edge. Top-notch, sturdy leather sheath--it gets my personal seal of approval

A Formidable Knife

I would give the Big BRO 5 stars but I think the knife is a little light. I know they want to keep the weight down and all that. With that said this my second BIG Brother and my 11th Ka-Bar. I own a lot of knifes swords and battle axes

 But, why I only gave it four stars is because I discovered the sheath was made in Mexico, and had a small cut in the belt loop. This doesn't hinder its use at all, but it's very disappointing.
