Kammok Mantis Hammock

This is their two-person hammock and it's very nice and comfortable as hammocks always are.

There weren't any hot spots like when sleeping on the ground on a sleeping pad.

I'm looking to do some backpacking this year, possibly along the Long Trail, and recently scored a brand new Kammok Mantis for only $110. I've been super interested in hammock camping for a while and have done quite a bit of research--when I saw this deal magically appear--but am still effectively a total noob.

I use the Kammok Mantis as my hammock setup and love it. I brought 2 so my wife or son could join me on trips. Love the setup and the brand, the support staff were very responsive. I had a defect in my new hammock and they got me a replacement super fast and easily with no cost or problems.

I have a kammok mantis which I love. Since I have a prolapsed disc (lower back) it may not be the best solution to sleep in a hammok though. Still I try at home sometimes but during the night I get out and go to bed. Lately I have problems with my neck too and I wonder if I should use a neck pillow instead of a pillow.

Loved hanging in my hammock reading while it rained on my tarp. I used the Kammok mantis for this hike and have loved it so far. The stuff sack holds the stakes, hammock, and tarp all in one small package.

I love my Kammok Mantis! It is great and simple. You can buy it from REI, but I think 50% off from Kammok is better. I have had great experience with them as a company too.

You'll get a tarp, the hammock, the suspension, a 20F UQ and a 20F TQ for $500. Imho the best bang for the buck you can get for an entire kit. The Kammok Mantis is a nice set and it is currently discounted but you'll need UQ and TQ. One of the most affordable options would then probably be to add the Cedar Ridge Synthetic quilts (Convector UP Underquilt & UP Synthetic Topquilt).

I bought a Kammok Mantis because of its weight limit of 500 lbs. I was finally able to try it out yesterday and one thing that I noticed is that the hammock would sag out regardless of strap height and tension. At one point I had the anchors about 8 feet off the ground with a gap between trees about 16 feet and my hammock sat about 3-4 feet off the ground and when I sat in it, the hammock sagged out to me being mere inches off the ground.
