 So if you actually shoot this gun and you like burning your hand, and you like having a harsh recoil impulse, all that look like you're out of Starship Troopers, go nuts, buy the Celtic RDB.  This little piece right here burnt me I don't know how many times, and you can see that I'm not sure if that's one of the push pins or not, but that thing is already walking itself out. Also, the recoil impulse was extreme. I'm not really sure why that is, but by comparison to something like the Geissele Super Duty 10.5 inch, this has triple the recoil

 That being said, ammunition is so expensive these days, it's kind of hard for me to justify time and money on a firearm that I'm not really vibing with. I don't particularly love bullpups very much, but I got the bullpup fever because I tried the Hellion recently, and that was the best bullpup I've shot. And this brought me right back to reality, and I got to tell you, as far as recoil impulse, as far as ergonomics, as far as overall accuracy and ease of use, this gets a solid F from me. The gun is reliable, however, which is all you can really ask of a gun mechanically, and everything else is personal preference

 Now even if you move that up to a 7.62 or anything like that, most rounds are velocity dependent and they're going to be helped out considerably by having let's say an extra 6 inches of barrel. And the reason why I say an extra 6 inches, that's usually the difference between a bullpup and something like a 10.5 inch Daniel Defense Mark 18 or something like that, which is very common for CQB

What y’all think about the rdb? I think I’ve made a complete 180 into a KelTec fanboy…

 Our best with the 75 grain is right at two and a half, so it's still be like a five inch gun, all right, which is pretty bad. Now once we switch over to the 55s, all right, this is significantly better. That's about a two inch group, which should give us about four MOA, and our best five round group here, that's under an inch and a half, so we'd be looking at about three inches-ish at 100 meters, all right, which is not going to win at Camp Perry, but I do call that acceptable for something like a survival rifle, battle rifle, that kind of thing. Okay, let's set up some new targets and we'll do some more fun shooting

 We'll shoot another group or two, and then we'll do some fun shooting. All right. Yeah, recoil is also relatively stout, which we kind of should expect from a very lightweight bullpup. Well, let's go down and look at our group sizes

 All right, so we're out in the woods and we're getting attacked by a bear, home defense gun, whatever, it's time to do a get some drill. Let's see how this little guy does for that. The recoil curve is a little bit weird, but it's definitely controllable. In fact, it feels more controllable up here in this configuration than it did while I was laying on the ground trying to get nice tight groups

 All right, and that's how your magazine gets released. All right, it is ambidextrous this way. Also for our actually testing, we'll be using Hornady 75 grain match, which is my gold standard for accuracy, and some of their Frontier 55 grain for some shooting to see how that goes. Okay, let's get this gun together and get down to the shooting part

Hey everyone. Newbie shooter here looking for some advice/recommendations on a first firearm (or 2). Bit of background, I shot my first gun a few months ago, a Glock 44 with a friend who was over in the States from the UK. Since my .22 introduction, I’ve graduated to 9mm and was playing around with a Sig P320 and a Sig P226 Legion. Definitely preferred the feel of the P320 here. I took my CCW class last week and used a Glock 17 to do the practical part of the course. It was… ok. 

So here I am looking at a wide array of pieces to start my gun ownership. So far (and this is quite random, I grant) I’ve been looking at these fellas:

Home defense:
Sig P320 X-Five Legion (keep going back to this. Don’t know why, but I love the look of it)
Magnum Baby Eagle (I love Desert Eagles, but don’t think I’m experienced enough for one yet)

Carry:
Smith and Wesson M&amp;P 9 Shield EZ
Walter PPK/S .380 ACP (bit of a Bond fan, so this is clichéd) but not a 9mm Luger. 

Anything else I should be looking at? Going to see if I can put a few rounds through as many firearms as I can, to see what suits me. But I think I really am looking at no more than 9mm for now. Open to .380 ACP but think I prefer the 9mm. .22 is out though and not sure I want to graduate again to .45 ACP caliber. 

Your advice and tips would be welcome.

Newbie shooter. Looking for recs.

 So the accuracy with the 1 in 9 barrel is really good. But again the production guns are going to have a 1 in 7 barrel so hopefully I can get my hands on one of those in the future so I can kind of compare the accuracy. The 1 in 7 obviously will be what everybody else will be able to get their hands on. The 1 in 9 won't be very representative of what's going to be out there

 The RDB is a 5.56 caliber rifle and of course it is a bullpup and it does some things that are rather unique. Now I know I have kind of a tenuous relationship in the past with Kel-Tec products. What's really cool about Kel-Tec as a company is that they've taken my criticisms in the past as constructive criticisms and I've worked closely with them over the last year or so in following the development of this rifle and some of the other stuff that they're working on

 Funny enough, the biggest issue I had with it was that it would run away and fire bursts. Kel-Tec couldn't (or wouldn't) fix it.

Friend has a malfunctioning foxtrot mike ar9 (it runs away on full auto sometimes). I've mentioned trading my RDB for it +200 dollars before, I believe I can easily fix the issue with either a different bolt or fcg. I plan to heavily replace parts on the gun if I got it. Is this a fair trade?
