 Hey YouTube, Dude Yourself Junkie369 here, and today I'm going to be doing a quick review on my new Keurig K Elite, obviously unboxing and setup as well, and some tips on how to use it. So basically I went with the K Elite, which is the newest Keurig as far as I know, and it's about middle of the range price wise, and it has features like auto on, can do temperatures between I think 178 to 192 degrees, and once you program that in there it stays, it remembers your last temperature setting, it has a setting for high altitude, it also has an auto off feature so after you brew, if you don't remember to turn it off it will shut off automatically to save some energy, it has like a 75 ounce reservoir so you can get about 8 cups of coffee out of this thing before you have to refill the water, and it comes in a color I like, brushed slate, there's other colors available. So anyway I'm going to cut this box open and show you what it looks like and how to set it up. So when I got this from Amazon, this box actually came inside of another box, which didn't seem to be needed, but the other box was beat up pretty good, and then, oh yeah there we go, there's a little bit of damage right there, anyway, you open the box, you've got instructions and some coupons to buy packages of coffee, and this is one of the few Keurigs that I know of, of course I've only owned two, that comes with a water filter, and then inside the box you've got this nice piece of cardboard to hold it in place, and then this is all wrapped in plastic, and now it is, all the loose pieces should be taped in place, but to avoid damaging this thing, getting it out of the box, I'm going to need both hands, so I'm going to have to put the camera down, so I'll come back and start the film over again as soon as I get this thing out of the box

 So anyway I'm going to cut this box open and show you what it looks like and how to set it up. Okay, so like I said, once you rinse it, you need to fill it up and you'll do what's known as a cleansing brew, so first we'll take this and plug it in, and remove the lid, and the biggest thing to remember on water is you don't want to use distilled water, and I'm using up some old water bottles, normally just tap water works fine, and then the other thing, other than not using distilled water, is you do not want to go above that fill line, and one of the features on this is it will tell you when you need to add more water

 The reservoir is removable and holds 75 ounces. It slides into the side. Just take the lid off to fill water. And there's a marked max fill line, so don't fill water above that

 And it does come with a charcoal filter. So inside this reservoir I don't have the filter in there right now but there you can put a charcoal filter in there so that it will filter your water before it goes through the the carrot machine. They say this really helps improve the taste. And the way you open this up it's just got two tabs

 Okay so there you've got a hot water that you could brew into a cup or a bowl for your soups or hot chocolate even. Okay so I took a sip of this and kind of smelled that you can that coffee taste kind of lingers in there a little bit. So again you could just throw that out and do another hot water and that would be a pretty clean. But Keurig does sell these rinse pods just for this so in between flavored drinks these are kind of expensive but they really do a good job

Recently I moved from my Keurig Classic as primary brewer to the K-Elite when the gasket on the first failed and I needed a maker IMMEDIATELY! I cannot allow another day pass before I share this information with others contemplating the purchase of the K-Elite. I am SO FRUSTRATED by the fact that the K-Elite will allow me to "brew" a cup even though there is not the correct amount of water in the reservoir and the product of the brew will be incomplete and undesirable. Not so with the Classic which will not allow the process to begin without proper water amounts in the reservoir. I guess I was spoiled

 Over here on this side, it does have a water reservoir. The water reservoir is removable. You can take it over there and fill it up. It may or may not come with this carbon water filter

 Again, here's that cup of coffee. I've been drinking coffee out of this for quite a while now. It brews a really good cup of coffee. If you like a hot cup of coffee, that's a very good coffee maker
