It's a creative idea, I'll give you that. The Klipsch center channel speakers are a 3-way design which are designed specifically for center channel use. The RP-450C has a response of 58-25k Hz, with crossovers at 500 and 1.5k Hz. For comparison, the RP-260F is a 2-way design and has a response of 34-25k Hz.

Klipsch R-34C or RP-504C

I’ve had an R-34C, it sucks, it’s not even worth $100, brilliant marketing is the way Klipsch manages to convince people that their shittiest speakers are worth $300 or more. I’ve also had R-820F towers and an RP-450C (2015 version of the RP-504C). They blend okay, the RP center is much more refined, less harsh highs, less of that Klipsch tone. Problem is once you get the RP center you’ll want to get the RP towers.

Normal to add 3db to Center Channel and Sub after Audyssey?

So when I did the set up it nerfed my center way down and couldn't get a good dialog volume. Prior to my new center, I was brand matching all 7.2 on polk and didn't need to mess with it cuz dialog was fine. Once I put a Klipsch RP-450C into the mix I had to manually tune it.

Klipsch Reference Premier a worthwhile Upgrade from First Gen Andrew Jones?

I would say the RP-450C alone is an upgrade over the AJ Pioneer center, that is the biggest weak link in that AJ setup. Now Klipsch is an acquired taste, not everyone likes them, but speakers you're looking at here are good speakers here and $950 isn't a bad price for all that either.
