I know you can’t get rid of pores but I’m wondering is there anyway to make them smaller? I use La Roche Posay products. They keep my acne mostly at bay but I feel like my pores are just so large. Part of it is genetic, but just wondering if there’s anything else I can do at home to help. Thanks!

. I can't handle fragrance (which means no popular Neutrogena Ultra sheer, no Aveeno and no Hawaiian tropic), I can't handle denatured alcohol (no hydroboost and a few others I can't remember at the moment) and I can't handle essential oils (there goes Australian gold and a lot of "natural" sunscreens like Alba Botanica and such). Mineral sunscreens are often too drying on my already dry skin and they cause eczema flares for me (bye bye Coppertone pure & simple, Bare Republic, Cerave hydrating and Neutrogena Sheer Zinc). I have had allergic reactions to Cerave AM, SunBum face 50 and Neutrogena Clear Face

 It is the trial and error that can get expensive. Many people can't afford to keep trying things that end up in the trash or just sitting on a shelf unused etc. I do see some comments here sometimes where people are like "oh, you've only tried 2-3 things, you can't say ALL face washes break you out" but what if that person cannot afford to buy a FOURTH cleanser that may break them out too.

But it seems very true that even "affordable" products such as TO and drugstore brands are expensive for a lot of people. Then there is the whole another sunscreen situation where you need a lot, but for many people it's hard to find one that is tolerable to wear.

(Love or hate her) Dr.Dray said in one of her more recent videos that even "affordable" options she recommends are going to be too expensive for a lot of people. And when you factor in other resources like time, mental health, disposable income, bills etc. you start to see how even "accessible" is relative.

Is skincare actually inaccessible to most? [MISC]

I wouldn’t say I have the most sensitive skin, but I always select products suitable for sensitive skin. This one made my face sting and was not effective in removing makeup (even after removing most of it with micellar water makeup remover). I love La Roche’s micellar water that I’ve used in the past, so I figured I would try their cleanser based on numerous positive reviews and dermatologist recommendation. Not satisfied and will be sticking with my previous cleanser

Not suitable for all senstoce skin

La roche posay hydrating cleanser for normal to dry skin is amazingggggggg !!! I went on a huge cleanser hunt a little bit ago and this was the absolute winner! Creamy and cleans off the oil cleanser residue without stripping, it is awesome and cheap (like $14s) for a big ass bottle of it! I’ve had mine for about a month and use it twice a day and am not even half way through it lol

I'm looking for an ideal 2nd step of a double cleanse, so it has to be something I can apply to damp skin. My skin absolutely drinks up the oil cleansers. I want all the hydration.

[Routine Help] Tell me the thickest, creamiest, most hydrating cleanser you can think of.

 I will say I loved the consistency and it made my skin SO soft. Wish it worked for me.

Not for me, but worth trying!

Cosrx snail essence: decent, won’t repurchase as it doesn’t do much other than provide a small boost of moisture

My skin type is normal to dry, but defaults more towards dry due to my climate (I live in a desert, average humidity is around 10%). My skin doesn’t flake but feels tight without moisturizer.

La roche posay hydrating cleanser: gentle, simple effective cleanser that doesn’t leave me feeling tight

Cerave SA renewing cream: I have KP and this really helps. Very thick and emollient. You can use on face as well. This is kinda my way to exfoliate my body, and I use tret on face

I’ve seen a lot of posts asking about skin care for body so I thought I’d include both routines:

This is a good cleanser, it’s filled with great ingredients, comes in a pretty decent size and is overall a good second step cleanser. It doesn’t leave your face tight after rinsing and it does feel lightly moisturizing. There isn’t a scent to this cleanser which I guess depends on personal preference; some people like to have fragrance in their products to each their own.  Although I personally wouldn’t use this to remove my makeup for two reasons: 1

) power of makeup removal. It’s good it’s not great but it’s pretty decent. I did a comparison with Cerave hydrating cleanser in terms of makeup removal. Yes this is better but not by much (again this probably depends what type, how much, dewy, matte makeup etc

)  Overall a pretty great cleanser it lasted me a pretty long time and would recommend to those with sensitive skin just not around the eyes.  My personal skin type: Normal to dry recently and My mother as well as my grandmother have had rosacea. I’m pretty sure I have it too I’m just too lazy to go to a derm. To confirm

Good gentle cleanser but not for makeup removal

 My apartment is also old af and heated by radiators, and I’ve been battling a sinus infection for the past month that means I blow my nose a lot. The Aveeno serum has saved my skin from being super red and raw from a combination of all these factors. It’s very soothing and hydrating. 

I love the Aveeno serum. I live in Boston and it’s very cold and dry here this time of year. My apartment is also old af and heated by radiators, and I’ve been battling a sinus infection for the past month that means I blow my nose a lot. The Aveeno serum has saved my skin from being super red and raw from a combination of all these factors

 Underneath my eyes, apple of my cheeks. That area was always burning and stinging whenever I used this. I also developed a spot of cystic acne (underneath the skin, painful bump).

 Every time I would use this "gentle" face wash, the apple of my cheeks would sting and burn. It's left me with some type of skin irritation/rash on that area of my face. I stopped using it last night to see if the stinging/burning sensation would stop. Thankfully it has calmed down a bit

 It still burns, of course. I anticipate it being a couple of weeks before its able to clear up.  This product burned my face. And though everyone has different skin and skin needs, I personally wouldn't recommend this to those with sensitive, dry skin

Not For Me - Burning and Stinging on Facial Skin

. It doesn't necessarily take off my full face of makeup. However, I use micellar water to remove most of my makeup and then go in again after cleansing with this. This cleanser has completely changed the integrity of my skin!!! My skin loves this stuff!! I also want to add I have extremely oily skin and this has kept the oils at bay!! Totally worth a try!!
