Leatherman Wave+

So, I gave my little bro Leatherman Wave at Christmas. Now every time I see him tinkering around the mopeds with his friends, he always has it on his belt. I'm just really happy that it didn't end up unused in drawer, and he really finds use for it. Now only if I could get him interested in quality knives.

So I've had a leatherman Wave for the past 6 years and really enjoyed the heck out of it but due to its size I never really everyday carried it. When I saw that new Bond I immediately jumped on it as it offers a more pocket friendly option. Once I received the tool, I thought it was great and all until about now (3 weeks later). The tool is already showing rust spots (none on my wave after 6 years) and the 2 arms of the tools are really bendy.

A good example is that Ozark Trail made a near-copy of the Leatherman Wave when the patent expired. I think it's called the Multiforce?. That said, I personally would rather grab a used Wave online, as in my experience, Ozark Trail stuff rusts, bends, and basically disintegrates with even minimal use. However, if you're on a super-strict budget, might be worth looking up.

The Leatherman Wave is my standard recommendation. It’s one of, if not the best, selling multitools of all time. It’s not cheap, but it’s definitely worth the money in my opinion. I own several multitools from different manufacturers, but the Wave is the one I keep coming back to after 13 years of ownership.

Coming from a guy with like 15 different tools including the Leatherman Wave, Charge, and Surge. Ozark Trail has a great return/replacement policy for the tool so you don’t have to hold back while using it. It’s also higher build quality than I expected. Comes with sheath, pocket clip, and bit extender standard.
