Now while the Decent Lineup and the Bianca are great machines, if you were a person who drinks almost exclusively milk based drinks... would the Bianca/Decent line be overkill? From my research, "endgame" for someone who does primarily milk based drinks would be something more simple like a Profitec Pro 300, a solid dual boiler machine that will produce consistent shots and can steam milk very quickly.

Is my thinking right here or are there better "endgame" machines for primarily making milk based drinks?

As the title states - given a hypothetical situation whereby you're looking to upgrade from a Bambino Plus that you recently paired with a Niche Zero, with a budget of £1,000 to £2,000, what machine would you go for? 

Probably no surprise here - this is the situation I'm currently in. About 5 years ago whilst I was at university, I worked in a coffee shop for a solid 12 months, and became fairly familiar with commercial machines. Since then, I've graduated, moved around the country a little, landed a job, and can now afford to explore the coffee rabbit hole. Three months ago is where this home journey began, with a Bambino Plus. The Niche Zero arrived about 2 weeks ago now, too. The frustrations I'm having with the Bambino are definitely teething issues that I simply never experienced / had to overcome working on a commercial environment, so right now, it's little like starting from scratch, trying to make it work.

I'm not at the stage yet where I'm itching to upgrade - there's still a lot of experimentation to be done with my setup, and I've done enough research at this point to feel confident in saying my purchase decisions have been justified, and to a degree, I've been happy with some of the espresso I've poured; but I've been much happier with the tasty lattes I've poured. 

With the Bambino, the drawbacks are clear; no pressure gauge, no PID, single boiler which leads to not the greatest steam &amp; doesn't allow for a simultaneous preparation, 54mm portafilter which makes following the "usual" measurements not fully possible. Equally, it has it's definite merits; fast warm up time (albeit inconsistent in my opinion), auto-steamer which is great for others in the household who want their fix but cannot manually steam, very small footprint. 

I knew all this from the outset, and took the gamble, but even with the bit of experimentation I've done so far over the last few weeks / months, I know things could be better. 

Being a member of this sub, you see a lot of different setups, and that niggle at the back of my mind is definitely there, so I can't help but ask the question... what if? 

Therefore - I'm wondering what I should be considering, given the budget range, and given the desire for more control over things like temperature / pressure / simultaneous workflow. To go down this route, it's far more expensive, which is a drawback, plus there's the heat-up time for these machines (easily combatted by a smart plug) - nevertheless I'd love some opinions.

Machines I've identified thus far, mainly from the sub:
* Rocket Appartamento - seems to be the cheapest Rocket available at around £1,250 
* Rocket Mozzafiato Cronometro V - a step up at £1,600
* Rocket Mozzafiato Cronometro R - the upper limit on the Rocket within my threshold at £1,850
* Lelit Mara X - cheapest Lelit at £999
* Lelit Bianca - upper limit here at £1,850

To be totally transparent - I'm not really sure what the differences truly are between the three Rocket models, the two Lelit models, or the actual Rocket &lt;&gt; Lelit models, either. At this point, I am ultimately seeking more control / understanding over the coffee I'm (hypothetically) pouring, e.g. PID, pressure, etc. 

If anyone can enlighten and educate me - that'd be truly appreciated. If I'm missing any models from this list, I am completely open to hearing about them too!

Hypothetical scenario: You're upgrading from a Bambino Plus, your budget is £1-2000, what machine do you choose?

1. Lelit Bianca - love the price point, having flow control (not a huge fan of the aesthetic/branding, worried about quality and resale value).

I recently upgraded from a Rocket Appartamento to the Lelit Bianca. It has been an amazing upgrade with significant improvement in my shot quality.

Looking to upgrade from my Rocket Espresso Cellini to a dual boiler machine any recommendations? Maybe keep rocket or change it up a bit been a great machine doesn’t own me a thing and have owned it forever!

Lelit Bianca might be worth to look at even though it could be an overkill since you don’t drink Espresso

Hi everyone, I've been doing a ton of research for the past month and finally decided on a good budget but I'm going crazy trying to figure out which machine I wanna end up with. This will be my first "prosumer" machine with a budget for the machine being $1300-1800 mainly looking for a semiautomatic, I'm currently in between looking at:

Bezzera BZ10  
Bezzera Unica  
ECM Classika PID w/ Flor Control  


I'm also open to other suggestions for machines, I will mainly make cappuccinos, and probably 2-3 times a day if that helps. Also, a plus if the machine has an e61 group head but that's not super necessary.

I hate the time investment it takes to go somewhere else when I could potentially do this at home. I know there will be a huge learning curve involved since I really don’t know too much about coffee in general, but I’d love to learn. 


If budget isn’t really an issue (not completely non-existent, but can spend a decent amount- maybe somewhere around $3,000ish?), what would you recommend? This price wouldn’t include a grinder (any grinder recommendations would be appreciated as well).
