Lenovo ThinkPad X250

I have here a thinkpad x250 with possible broken bios. A previous dump of the bios chip I could not make unfortunately because this was already empty. Failure:. Turn on the laptop -> fan spins for about 5 seconds -> power LED is green and then nothing happens.

You could probably get a secondhand ThinkPad X250 (13 inch), or T450 (14 inch). If you get the X240 or T440, be prepared to change the trackpad, as the standard one that comes with those models is awful (it's the trackpad without the buttons). I have found the X250 and T450 to be very good, reliable, cheap (and with reasonable battery life too). If you get the earlier models (like the X220 or X230), you might get more power, but battery life won't be as good (and not sure if you can still buy batteries for those models, I know you can still get batteries for the X250 and T450).
