The LG 32UL500-W is the best 32 inch monitor we've tested if you're on a budget. It's a versatile display similar to the Dell S3221QS, but because it costs less, it has fewer features. It also uses a VA panel, so blacks look black when viewed in the dark, and it has decent black uniformity.

It's decent for gaming and good for the office, meaning you can use it for a variety of uses. It's a simple 60Hz monitor with a 4k resolution and HDMI 2.0 bandwidth, meaning you can play 4k games up to 60 fps, but not high-frame-rate games. It also has native FreeSync support and is G-SYNC compatible for reducing screen tearing. It has a flicker-free backlight, and it has a decent overall response time, but you'll still see motion blur behind fast-moving objects. Even for office use, it has low input lag, and the high resolution provides clear text.

Sadly, it has poor out-of-the-box accuracy, so you might need to get it calibrated to enjoy it to the fullest. Also, it's not the brightest monitor, so it doesn't fight glare, and highlights don't pop in HDR, but it at least has good reflection handling, so it's fine if there are a few lights around. If you're okay with these issues, it's the best 32 inch budget monitor we've tested.

If you prefer something with a higher resolution, then check out the LG 32UL500-W. It doesn't have a high refresh rate like the LG 32GN600-B as it's limited to a 60Hz refresh rate, but because of the bandwidth limitations of HDMI 2.0, you can't play 4k games at a higher refresh rate anyways. The high resolution helps deliver sharp images, and if you want to play console games on it, it has low input lag and FreeSync support. It also has a VA panel with a high contrast ratio. However, that means it has a narrow viewing angle. Also, it has noticeable black smearing that can get distracting.

If you want a monitor for under $300 with a 32 inch screen size, you should be happy with the 32GN600-B if you want a fast refresh rate. However, if a 4k resolution is important, check out the 32UL500-W.

I think a 27" 4K with 150% scaling would look perfect. Also, it's much easier to find an affordable 27" IPS panel vs for 32", my LG 32UL500 is VA and while it looks great, IPS is always a win. If I was buying again I probably would go for the 27 inch. Or save up more and get a 32 with an IPS panel and more proper HDR

 But 125% feels too small. After using macOS and Linux with 133% (which matches the size of things on my laptop screen too), that feels just right. Windows does not take kindly to custom scaling however, even if it's an option. 

I have heard some people say that 4k gaming on a 27 inch monitor is not worth it because it is much better on a 32 inch monitor. Is it worth paying so much more for a 32 inch monitor or should I just game at 1440p on a 27" monitor. What do you guys think? Any help is very much appreciated.

 Viewing high resolution pictures is also outstanding for the full screen at any angle.  The down side for me is that I use this monitor primarily for AutoCAD architectural design purposes the this is where this particular monitor is of lesser quality than the one it replaced. Task bars, icons, text, line work, and every other visual aspects of the program on this particular monitor is of lower resolution so these items are slightly blurry or bloated. You can still use it, but the eye strain is increased so have to keep adjusting your eyes thinking they are the problem

 I primarily use the monitor for CAD design work. In looking for a replacement I was looking for a monitor that was at least as good as the one it was replacing and slightly larger. The research we performed indicated that this LG monitor would provide better visual quality for graphic design with a larger canvas to work with. Accessory features were the higher resolution and UHD quality graphics

Not the best for Computer Aided Design (CAD) Work

I have narrowed it down to the LG 32UL500-W 32 and the ASUS TUF Gaming VG289Q 28”. Which one would be better? roughly the same price, one is VA other IPS, one is slightly bigger and the comparison goes on and on. Any advice? I would be playing ps5 and light video editing. Advice?
